Roughnecks army book

I've been on the sidelines about this a while. I did actually quite enjoy the cartoon (And I think it still looks pretty damn impressive lol), and I like the idea of a single squad platoon, but on the other hand I think I should really be buying more Arachnid warriors...

So, directed at those who own/have flipped through a copy:
Is it worth buying the army book?

While its NOT the best Value for money, It is a nicely put together book.

I dont think I'd ever pay full price for a mongoose army book after my purchase of the arachnid one... Its a good book, but even GW would give more bang for your buck than that lol.

Hey maybe Mongoose could stick all the army books up as a free download Not as if theres gonna be much demand for them in another month or so

I own it. I got my copy cheap. It is not nearly as meaty in material as the core army books but if you're a completist, not having it will eventually eat away at you. :lol:

I do have a Roughneck squad as well. I don't have the book in front of me but I'm almost certain you are not limited to a one squad platoon. I've got the Roughneck character squad as one squad in my "Roughnecks" platoon. I've got the Lieutenant, a CHAS, a standard bearer as NCO and two other squads. The second squad is regular PAMI, i.e.- the new guys. I did take the liberty to make the third squad my unofficial ATV squad instead of more regular PAMI.

Im not really much of a completist these days, but it seemed like a pretty fun idea...
Just one that really should have been in the MI book, along with LAMI and Pathfinders

I have it, and while not the best book (pathfinders and MI are better, never read the arachnid or skinny ones), it's worth getting..
it's rather light, just one squad can do that i hear:

While I loved your Roughneck's minis...(well, I like ALL of your minis!)... personally I don't consider them to be your BEST: I think you out-did yourself on the Skinnies! Particularly the Soldiers and the Raiders.
