Rolling d66 - what's that?

d66? What the heck is that? A giant golfball die? Nope!

Learn how to generate 36 numbers using just 2 regular 6-sided dice - great for expansion tables:

I haven't looked closely enough at the MgT2e rules, does it use the d66 roll often?

I know CT uses it a lot for encounter matrices and I have used it in the past to generate hit locations for ships and vehicles...

As I recall:

1. 2D6 - bell curve, not to be confused with distributor of expensive bath water

2. D66 - even distribution, socialism in action

I know most of you don't know of any other die type, but the d88 could be useful, the d1010 is used in many games although I don't believe anyone calls it that.

However, I doubt anyone wants to use the d2020 table ever again.

Core Rulebook said:
D66: This is shorthand for a special way of rolling two six-sided dice. Before rolling nominate one die as the ‘tens’ die and one as the ‘units’ die, to give you a two-digit number between 11 and 66. Some numbers cannot be rolled on a d66 (any number with a 7 or higher in it), giving you a total of 36 possible outcomes
