Yeah definitely, Bjorn! Its not every day you meet a fellow Conan fan, or as I called 'em a 'Nan Fan... I dont know it seems to me even when talking with readers of fantasy or sword & sorcery fiction REH doesnt get the respect or acknowledgement his writing deservers, certainly not like Tolkien, or lately George RR Martin, or perhaps even Lovecraft (whom I also love) gets... This may be because people have read some of the inferior patiche stuff of Conan and weren't impressed. Not that all pastiche stuff is bad, just not as good as the REH material. But certainly it will be great to meet a lot of the folks behind these posts, and the posts from the Conan.com forum... I'm going with my big brother, who got me into REH, and is has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things REH... Should be a great time and make for a memorable trip to the Lone Star State!

I agree. The movies probably have a part in it as well; I've met people who haven't read a single Conan tale (not even pastiche!), who consider Conan sub-par fantasy!

Hope to touch base with all of you in June. As it gets closer, we'll have to arrange a meeting place and a time to get together.
My offer still holds on running a Conan game if you all are interested and we can find a place to play. 8)
