Well, a brief batrep from last night:
Vorlons (me) vs Centauri (Katadder), 5 raid, assassination.
3 Transports & 1 Destroyer vs. 6 Vorchans (2 squadrons of 3) and 4 Maximus.
4 'roid fields (towards the bottom of the board) and 1 gas giant rolled for (no moons) on the bottom left. Centauri elect to setup at the top. Vorlons meanwhile leave dest & trans in hyperspace & 2 trans on the board at the bottom right.
Vorlons win attacker & select a hapless Vorchan (as it happened, no. 1) as their target.
Opened with the left vorchan squad managing a 29 inch move! (apte onto the gravity well and extra move) attempting to flank 2 trans. JPs as usual did nada, scraping a few pts on a max and damaging a vorchan. Transports moved into cover between two 'roid fields. Vorchan came forwards into weapons range & did potshots against a trans.
From there on in, Vorlons popped about a ship per turn. Hits were few but I managed no less than 6 vital crits, of which IIRC 3 were 6/6

Although 1 transport was up to 67dmg at one point, managed to steam off & slingshot around the gas giant to escape 8) Similarly, although the dest got hit for 100 in one round by a Vorchan Squadron and 2 maximus, he outmanouvered & a transport wiped out the Vorchan (the scenario target) about to CAF him to death. Game called there... End result: 4 Vorchans dead, 1 Max cripp/skeled and the others with a spattering of damage.
