Reloading ranged weapons

Which is the difference between "load 1" (sling, f ex.) and "load -" (throwing star)?
If I want to reload a throwing star, or dart, or similar, should I spend one action to "ready weapon" (if it is not in my hand) and another action to throw it? shouldn't it? So reload a longbow (load 1) should be: one action to load arrow and one action to fire. So... I do not understand the difference between - and 1.

Hi Big Ork !!!

Ok. You are right.
I think that throwing items (like a dart, dagger, throwing star and so on) should use the "ready weapon" Combat Action.
Maybe is more a subject of lexicon. It is more properly to use the term "reload" with proyectile weapons, and leave no loading actions for throwing weapons, which use the "ready weapon" action.

I read this to mean that you can ready the weapon in the same action as throwing it. If someone has a hand full of 5 throwing stars I would be perfectly happy to let them throw one per action and then have to use the ready weapon action to get more. Same, if for example, they have a bunch of throwing darts in their left hand and throw them one at a time with their right hand.

That's good for me.

That's how I've been doing it.

I like your idea and so I shall do it: one action to ready the thrown weapons (make the player declare how many he grabs) and then one off each remaining CA until he's out and needs to reload. Cool, thanks.
