Release dates for new books

I hope they retain the style of the old maps. Gary Chalk's maps looked like they really belonged in the world (whereas the later maps looked a bit too much out of context and didn't quite feel right). Now of course I'm not asking for Gary's maps all over again, but the style he drew them in really seedm right for Magnamund.

The hardbacks do sound tempting and they're at a good price - can you tell me some more about them? Will they have a jacket or will the cover just be printed straight onto the board?

They won't have a jacket - the system we use doesn't print onto board, but uses its own paper which is then laminated and then fixed onto the board. It is a very solid system, and will stand to many years flipping between the pages!

There are now 38 full page illustrations in the new LW1, along with several vignettes and yes, there will be a full colour map inside.

Fantastic that compares very well with the 20 or so full page images found in the originals (project aon). It sounds like Lone Wolf is getting solid treatment. Thanks.

Okay, sounds good. If you have any proof copies of the first book before the release date, a few photo's would probably make up a few people's minds - mine included (and then you can send me the copy as a thanks for making so many sales :) )

I've just had a look at the first books of the trilogies you get free with the mega-deal...so you actually get 33 gamebooks and 6 novels for the money - that's $15.36 each (£7.71) for hardback collector's editions delivereed to your door on release. This is looking more and more tempting.

The "get the last four gamebooks 4 months before the public" might seem more tempting if the release date for them was closer than 5 years away! Nice gesture, though.

CURSE YOU MONGOOSE FOR OFFERING SUCH AN ATTRACTIVE DEAL!!!

It all got too much for me, and I'm now a proud subscriber to the Magnamund mega-deal.

Bring it on!!

Those four are likely to be released out of sequence. . .

Get it whilst the dollar is weak! It turned out to be £300.67 when I made the plunge this afternoon.

That was silly then if you're in the UK, observe the £GBP price:

£299.00

That is very interesting and rather unexpected I never did manage to get my hands on the new order books but I doubt I could resist playing them out of sequence.

Is there any more special treatment regarding the binding of the megadeal books? It looks from the picture like they have "Collectors Edition" slapped down across the bottom corner. ARe they being smartened up in any other way? I'm thinking black spine with gold leaf text, that sort of thing.

lastbesthope - thanks for pointing this out, didn't realise I could view in GBP.

I believe the collector's editions are hardbacks and are also going to be released a few months ahead of the more traditional paperback versions :).
