I should hope so as Mongoose are based in Swindon (which is in England).

Oh well... you're right with that of course!

Well if a company makes a special deal to a country halfway round the world then you'd assume they'd make the same good deal for their fellow countrymen too :).

What about
"Your shipping/postage will immediatly be refunded."
for non US residents?
Does this apply for Europeans too? Guess not since the preorder adds shipping costs to the offer... :-(

Since it specifies no geographic constraints for the refund whay assume there are any?

Well... that's because additional postage for shipping was added when I tried to preorder... but that's probably why it's called a "refund".

Hi guys,

The shipping refund applies to everyone, even if you are in Antartica!

I and one other member of TotS have already pre-ordered, and ca both vouch for the fact you get an e-mail a few days later confirming the refund of your shipping costs.

If someone can explian why it has to happen that way round (tax? standards and practises?) then I'd love to know!

Because, I think, the calculation of shipping is automatically derrived from the cost of the item, so unless they go in and alter the shop script it's easier to refund the shipping manually when the order goes through.

At least, that'd be my guess.

Ah, interesting thought, probably a good guess!

Speaking of the mega-deal, I think a few people now have baulked at the huge upfront cost and wondered about some form of direct debit system instead to pay by installments while still commiting to the full deal.

Anyone any idea if this would be feasable (or even planned)?

It's the content I'm interested in, not the format. Amazon.co.uk have FFTD softback at £5.59 - the megadeal gets you hardback at around £9.60 per book.

Unless there's a softback megadeal too, I'm afraid I'll be going with Amazon. Shame, as it would be great to pay once and then just have everything arrive on release.

You will also get them a lot sooner with the Collector's Editions.

True, but I still haven't gotten around to finishing the first set of 28 books!

The hardbacks do sound tempting and they're at a good price - can you tell me some more about them? Will they have a jacket or will the cover just be printed straight onto the board?

I'd be interested in a few more facts. I am wavering in favour of the big upfront collectors edition buy and just need to get it past the wife.

Could you tell us more about the internal art work the covers look great but I would love to know more about what will be inside the books. How many approx full page images ? Will there be little section divider filler images as the originals? Pictures of the weapons always important. Maps do we still have two page colour maps. Could we see some of the internal pictures and maps?

Thanks WW

According to MongooseFordy, this is an illustration of the new books, made by Richard Longmore: a Giak using a bow with two Doomwolves behind it.

There's also a very small picture of a Drakkar illustrating the LW mega deal on page 60 of S&P RPG #45.

As I'm used to the Gary Chalk and Brian Williams illustrations, I still think of those as the definitive versions. From what I've seen, though, I could get used to the new stuff.

Thanks Black Cat I could live with that image, yet another interpretation of Maganmund that can't be bad. I would still like to know the number of large images roughly in the first book and if we will be getting two page colour maps.
