Reign of Discordia update

Hi everyone!

I fully expect The Traveller edition of Reign of Discordia to go on sale today!

The files are being uploaded to my server at my website.

Just a note, we're now Gun Metal Games. This will be the last book release under the Reality deviant Publications moniker.

The traveller edition of reign of Discordia will go on sale in PDF form for 9.95. Reing of discordia has been expanded to include the first full length adventure, a section devoted to running the game, and also contains deck plans for the starships.

There's only one star ship we chose not to do deck plans for, The Imperium Class Battle Cruiser.. To be frank. the ship is just too big and it would have padded the page count too much.

But look for it in upcoming Signs and portents issues!

The Book is 168 pages, and will be in hard cover, and will go into solicitation through Mongoose's Flaming Cobra line next month, and should be on sale in April for 34.99!

I'll post again once this puppy goes live.

I'm pleased to announce Reign of Discordia is on sale now at our website!

And, Wow. Looks very good. Yes, I rushed out and bought it -I know the original ruleset, so I already liked the background. And, also, yes it was worth buying the traveller version, Bigtime. I'm very impressed ! while I love and adore the OTU, this is a "non-otu but very traveller flavor* setting" that is well worth buying, even if you own the original.
This is exactly what I was hoping Mongooses version of Traveller and OGL traveller would encourage !

:!: Bravo ! :!:

(now, gotta prep for an exam on "singular value decomposition methods matrix applications"**; -which should indicate how fired up I was to get it.)

* whatever that means -and no, I don't want to discuss it. ;)

I will be buying the deadtree version of this one as I have been most impressed with the d20 (even though the rules mean little) version. PDF would have to wait unless you want me send me a copy to review for my gaming meetup group (an audience of 230+ gamers).

Thanks guys, for your kind words. A lot of love went into this version. I hope you enjoy it!

I was wondering if any of your other products (outside of Reign of Discordia) might be converted to Traveller? I see Interface Zero will be converted to SW, how about a Traveller version?

Hi there.

I'm happy you like the setting. Darrin has done an awesome job on it and I've been happy to bring this setting to publication.

Having it in Traveller is great, and I'd certainly welcome any chance to get the product reviewed!

PM me with your email address and I'll be happy to send you a copy.

Mr. Sprange and I have indeed had some discussion about Interface Zero, and I just might be doing a version of it for traveller in the future. I don't think there is a cyberpunk setting for Traveller so IZ might be welcomed.

It's a ways off though. I'm still working on the Savaged Version.

Thanks for your feedback on this though. I appreciate it.

I just glanced through the setting book and I have one BIG question...

WHERE IS THE STAR MAP?????????

You list several worlds, homeworlds and even "Frontier Worlds" but you have no star map so we have no idea where things are in relation to anything else!

I am not asking for a subsector by subsector map of known space, but a map of known space would be very helpful.

For example, where is Rover's Beacon in relation to, well, everything...???

Any chance of getting a map?

The map isn't in there?

Wow, talk about a complete brain failure.

I'll get the problem fixed ASAP.

It was a miscommunication, I think.

The map was originally in the book, but I asked that it be put on the inside cover and the first page, because the print book will be in Hard Cover so we can do that, and I guess the layout guy just forgot to put it back in for the electronic version.

I'm working on updating the pdf now.

I'm really sorry about this.

Okay.

I've added the map of the galaxy to the files section for the product.

You should have received an email notifying you of an update to the book. If you didn't, just log back into rpgnow and check your downloads section, and it should be there.

If you're still having issues, please PM me, or email me at:

mdavidjarvis@yahoo.com

And I'll get you sorted out ASAP

Got it! FYI - It shows up as a separate download.

One question (well several related questions) that the starmap brings up that I don't feel are explained very well in the book.

Ships are given Jump Drive ratings, but you don't spend any time explaining how that translates to your Tachyon Drive really works IN GAME.

It seems like you are using the Teleport Drive option from the TMB, but that book specifically states that multiple jumps are dangerous. Your text indicates otherwise. Also, you mention the ability to make long-range jumps. A small section explaining how this all fits together (in-game and meta-game) would be very helpful as I am very confused about how long it would take a Fast Freighter for example, to get from Earth to Teron.

Other than this one little thing, I really like the setting.

I intend to read it more thoroughly this weekend and post a review early next week.

The ships where given standard Traveller stats, though can't comment on just how this translates to the Tachyon Drive.
