Reign of Discordia Deckplans

Reign of Discordia is a new setting for Traveller, available early next
month.

Within the Reign of Discordia, you can fight against the R'Tillek and their
crusade of extermination against the known species, fight to protect the
independence of dozens of worlds, participate in the cold war between Earth
and Lamog, haul cargo to the Frontier Systems, involve yourself in the
various crime syndicates, work for one of the interplanetary conglomerates
and engage in corporate sabotage, play a role in the advancement of one of
the interplanetary organizations, salvage starships, and engage in a number
of other activities that will bring danger and adventure.

Oh MAN does that sound like the scratch my itch needs!

I love the smaller ships in the DL, but the bigger ship doesn't make any sense. Is that actually two (or more) separate ships? Presumably it will make more sense in the actual book.

Most ships take more then one page for all the decks. Only 2 ships are <2,001 tons (Assault Fighter and Fast Freighter). There are 9 ships in their (10 in Reign of Discordia but deckplans where not done for the 540,000 ton Imperium-Class Battle Cruiser). Should be able to put them together as the decks are numbered. But if you need help identifying something just ask.

Ok, I found the "actual page number" display on the acrobat reader which helps some since I can look for gaps between ship page sequences.

These designs have considerably more "empty space" in them than I am accustomed to in Trav deckplans, that's for sure. Am I right that the grid size is 1m instead of 1.5m? I'm anxious to see the exterior artwork so I can understand how things go together better.

Definitely one for the "wish list".

Yes they do have more empty space then you'll see in the usual Traveller deckplans. This was a design decision, as this is a different setting it was done to help give it a different feel. Stats wise the ships use standard Traveller specifications just there is more extra space, so figure the hull is actually larger then you would see on a standard Traveller ship of the same tonnage (or they are better at making things smaller). Normal Traveller grid size was used.

The deckplans are no more simplistic then the ones from Mongoose Publishing. But they didn't come out so well in the PDF, hopefully the actual book does a better job of it.

Having been a major scifi space opera geek my entire life, the setting was entirely dreamed up by me. It was originally released to True20, but when we showed it to Mongoose, they felt that it would be a great fit for Traveller, and I happened to agree.

I tried to make the setting enough of a sandbox that you could conceivably fit any kind of space opera campaign you can imagine, but the whole thing takes place against the backdrop of the collapse of the major stellar government.

As far as additional material goes, there have been budget setbacks, but there are plans for more RPG books in the near future. There's also plans for a line of fiction in the near future. Right now I'm writing a heroic fantasy book set in the classical age of Greece, and then a novel for Reign of Discordia is up after that.
