Having been served well by the rule "don't waste time arguing with tytalan" I am going to add "don't bother arguing with pidgin-tytalan" to the list. He has been literally, demonstrably, quote-the-rules-(of the game or of maths)-to-explain wrong six times in three pages, with some very gentle explanations from various, patient, very knowledgable posters, and he hasn't grasped a single one. Why waste time on such a beautiful Friday?
Because none of the rules posted say what you say.
Your flawed interpretation of the rule all so falls apart once you add space weapons to the mix, and the new vehicle handbook adds space craft weapons to ground vehicles.
If a mining laser on a spaceship fires on a ground target and rolls 9 to hit and gets 3 from the dice it does 4 spacecraft-scale damage and 4 spacecraft-scale AP
"LASER DRILL
This is more of a tool than a weapon, used by belters to penetrate asteroids in order to reach valuable ores. Salvagers also use laser drills to gain entry into derelict ships. However, in an emergency, the laser drill makes for a potent, if very short-ranged, weapon. The laser drill suffers DM-3 to attack rolls if used as a weapon"
2D and AP4
This translates to 40 damage and AP40
Why, with the same weapon and dice roll, would it all of a sudden do 31 damage? Why would any other destructive weapon be treated differently?
"LASER DRILL
This spacecraft-grade laser drill is intended for asteroid mining but can be used as a weapon. It is very accurate when laboriously calibrated and fired against a stationary target but unsuited to the rapid movement required for combat. Its high-intensity beam requires a nuclear-powered vehicle to operate.
When used as a mining or tunnelling tool, the laser drill can cut through up to 300 cubic metres of rock per hour, but requires other machines or tools to clear debris and careful monitoring to avoid overheating. Its beam is intense enough to cut crystaliron at 20% of its capacity and superdense materials at 10%."
2DD and AP40 inaccuart
I have seen no knowlge only people stuck in the way and unable to grasp new things.
And call me pidgin. I am not the one who cant read the books and under stand the words.
@Endie
So all you can do is laugh but you can't debate the points raised. No one has been able to refute any point i have made. The only argument comes from feels and vibes and they fall apart once rules are actually looked at. It kind of sad and pathetic just how bad people have tried to make their argument. It like you're looking at a different set of rules.
