A brand new line for Traveller has just been started on Drivethru. Penned by fan-favourite M J Dougherty, Referee's Aid 1: Among the Trojans provides a complete outsystem setting that can be quickly inserted into any campaign.

Among the Trojans presents a complete and self-contained game setting for Traveller. It can be placed in almost any star system without affecting a setting’s canon data on what is there. A wealth of adventure opportunities awaits within the Trojan zones of the gas giant Kendelsei, among her moons, and on the system’s outer planets.

Characters do not need a starship to adventure in this environment; it is possible to move between the moons and planetoids by local craft, hitching a ride with friends or paying for passage as necessary. An adventuring group that has the use of a small craft like a cutter or a ship’s boat will find this more than sufficient to give access to the many adventure locations in this sourcebook, though long transits aboard small craft are rarely very pleasant!

Very neat idea!

I've always liked the idea of including a bit more detail about things other than the mainworld of any system - outer system outposts, inner system research stations, etc - but I can see the complexity of adding this sort of thing to the World Generation system would complicate matters a bit.

this might make a good piece of inspiration material - as well as a nice setting in its own right - for unimaginative GMs like myself to jump off from in that respect :D

Yes I agree. Too many times all you get in system descriptions is the "cruise ship port description". Star. Mainworld... that's it. Terra thousands of years from now apparently just ignores the rest of the solar system according to cannon. Even Clement Sector does this. You get a few concessions, like having Navy or refueling stations out at the gas giant's moons. And then nothing.
I mean there's so much potential for an interesting setting. 2 examples of this:
1) Avatar. The whole movie was set on a moon orbiting a gas giant. How would that be different from being on a standard terrestrial planet? Looking up at Jupiter & other moons? High radiation?
2) Jovian Chronicles. A very Gundamesque RPG. With the main nation being based on Vinarium Colony cylinders stationed at Jupiter's Trojan points.

Terra and the other planets/moons orbiting Sol are described at length in the Mongoose Traveller Solomani Rim book.

Well, what did I look at!!!!!!

Sorry, I take back my statement and revise it to:

"At $6 this is a great buy!"

I have no idea what happened. DriveThruRPG charged me $11.98 for the book!

Nice product, I look forward to seeing more like it.

I thought I'd report this here rather than RPGNow, but there are two worlds missing parts of their UWPs - Freedom's Moon is missing its TL, and Wayward is missing one of the 6 digits, but I can't tell which. (It's likely a 0, so not hugely important, but it's still a typo.)

Also, for future similar projects, having a table of travel times at different acceleration rates might not be a bad idea. I realize these vary (sometimes dramatically) based off of orbital positions, but even providing some orbital radii differences would help out. Not a big deal though.

BTW - this is the first of a series of Referee's Aids.

That implies that there might just be more to come....

Has there been any though about collecting all the Referee's Aids into a single dead tree book once they are all complete? If you can get it up to around 100-150 pages I think it would be a good addition to the Traveller line.
