Back when everybody was getting silly with D20 Mongoose did a D20 version of Macho Women With Guns, in some ways it was quirky and fun but it kind of missed the point of the original game in many ways.
If Mongoose still has the Licence (or an option on the Licence) how about looking at a 3rd edition using a revised version of the classic rules system?
