Raiders at 5 Raid

Comrades, I'm thinking of buying a Raiders fleet at 5 raid level for a cheap second fleet to use in fun games. This is what I'm thinking:

1 Nova (2 points)
1 Battlewagon (1 point)
2 Strike Carriers (1 point)
2 Double-V wings, 2 Delta-V2 wings (1 point)

This gives me 17 flights of Delta-V fighters, plus 10 V2 flights and 10 Double-V flights, all of which would have the benefit of a fleet carrier. A lot of my hopes would be pinned on the fighters, though, with only the Nova and Battlwagon seriously capable of hurting anything in a fight.

What do people think? Am I totally insane or might this fleet have a chance at this level?

could work, although I have not played against the raiders - it does seem a good balance of resources

It's not bad but fleets with escorts will kill ya. I would at least consider a couple of merchant hulls, they make good sinks if your up against a race that is too heavily anti-fighter.

Merchant hulls? You mean Modified Freighters? I'm not sure how much use they'd be. I suppose I can swap a Strike Carrier for two Freighters, that'd lose me two Delta-V flights but gain a few AP AD. Anyone think these things are worth having?

Double post madness!

It'd cost me £69 to put that fleet on the table. Five ships, 15 Delta-V flights, 10 Delta-V2 flights and 10 Double-V flights. How's this for some names?
