Do you mean the Chaosium incarnation of Elric or the Mongoose Elric?
If the latter then it was designed for RQ2 so is 100% compatible. The only thing to consider is that the magic system is designed for the setting and may not be what you want for other settings. Not sure what would happen if you mixed the core magic with Elric magic. Suck it and see.
If you are talking about the Chaosium setting then they can work under RQ2 but you will need to do a little conversion work as BRP and RQ2 are similar but not the same. If you want to use the Elric/Stormbringer magic system then I would import to RQ2 as is rather than try and convert.
I've got all the Elric books from first edition of Stormbringer and I think the latest iteration from Mongoose is the best in game terms. I would use the older Elric books as source material but run the game using RQ2 and the Elric source books.
