Questions from the new armageddon tournament pdf

Cutting comment, Burger, and I would say unfair for the most part.
Mostly intended in irony, hence the ";)"...
And looks a bit out of context, now Ripple has edited his post that I was responding to!!!

WHY is no-one from mongoose saying exactly why the Sag is a skirmish ship, it's nut hard for that level, is it a typo, should it have hull 4 like the Dag Kar, or should it have hull 5 but be raid. And while I mention the Dag Kar, when It got shaftd for the huge SFOS e-mine downgrade, why did it not become skirmish, because of ship busters? It generally explodes long before getting them in range? Maybe I should stop as I am borderline major rant about things.

just set ur campaigns/tourneys for later than the early earth years :)

It's the principle of the thing Damnit, I play several EA players and you can bet your bottomg dollor they will be arguing to use it.

well you can argue to use your new ships which is later era

but i know what you mean, it should be raid or use the old stats then skirmish, and i mean SFOS stats.

Agreed. Same with the VLC; hull 5 changed to 6 after playtesting? How do these things happen?

And fighters - just so I'm clear they can stack onto ship bases when attacking but not on eachother?

Again, agreed. Possibly the new lists in A will make the overpowered Sag obsolete? I don't know...I give up.

Me too.

EDIT: VLC hull 5-6 disparity, not HC.

I'm putting together quite a long list of questions to ask when Matt says "right are there any questions before we begin?" on the 16th...

So the game will start some time on the 17th then?

Not a problem so long as most of the answers are not 'play the game as written. . .' :)

Actually quite a few of them are ;)
Eg: Shadow Hunter has fighter dispersal tube range of 3"?

The problem with "as written" is that they can be interpreted several ways, for example see the charged energy field threead in rulesmasters.

We now get a VP for every flight of aux craft we kill, right? Including those launched from ships?

Correct.
What about if the ship is destroyed before the fighters are launched? Do we get the VP's for killing the unlaunched fighters? And does the same apply for unlaunched Drakh Raiders if the carrier is destroyed?

If a flight of fighters makes a tactical withdrawl do we get 20% of 1 VP, rounded up (equals 1 VP)?

Is a flight of fighters remaining unkilled, enough to prevent a 20-0 "fleet annihilated" result?

1. No - you have not destoyred them per se, any more than if you destroyed every ship on the table while others are still in hyperspace. Basically, you haven't earned the VPs.

2. Yes, the Withdrawal rules apply.

3. Well, the fleet has not been annihilated (and if you cannot kill one flight after massacring an entire fleet, you probably deserve some ribbing from your opponent, however unjustified :)).

Great, thanks for the clarifications at this ridiculous hour in the morning ;) No-one can ever claim you're not dedicated to us fans :D

Oh and (3)... I was thinking of one of my ships in hyperspace, starting with a flight deployed... jump the ship in, but leave the fighters behind in hyperspace. Ensure my opponent can never get a 20-0, and I don't give away a VP for making a withdrawl

Yes Kremmy you're right. Sag's can use flash, heavy, long-range, anti-fighter or any of the other missile types.

Can missile types be changed between battles in a tournament, or are you stuck with one choice for all fights? Same question for energy mine types?

Good question - for Into the Fire II, I will rule that you choose at the beginning of the tournament and must stick with it.

You know, I'd just assumed the Vorlon Light Cruiser being hull 6 (rather than 5) and the Sagittarius being Skirmish PL (rather than Raid) were typos.

The Vorlon Light Cruiser should indeed be Hull 5. Note, this, the Shadow Hunter Dispersal Tube (should be 30" of course) and the Thoughtforce/Lordship text swap are the _only_ typos I have found in Armageddon.

Apologies, and we'll get a FAQ up on that before the book goes on sale.
