Question for Matt on the CTA Forum Move

McKickaha

Mongoose
Ok understand that CTA goes into "Other games",

(1)Is that a new category under the "Mongoose Minature" section. (& CTA is the only content for the moment)

(2)Does all of the existing content just get transferred across ie little / no risk of losing anything?

(3) Does the demise of the licence mean any additional restrictions to the forum "unwritten" posting rules

(1) Yes most likely

(2) No it will all get deleted

(3) ??? Starship Troopers discussion is still allowed in the BF Evo forum though, so I don't see why B5 discussion wouldn't be allowed in the CTA one. Don't expect any of Mongoose staff will touch those threads though.

It looks like the Internet Archive isn't archiving any of the forums:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/forum.php

Having at least a read-only forum would be better than having the forum go away.

BTW: I noticed that all of the uploaded ACTA pictures are gone early. Any possibility to get them back up so that fans could archive them, perhaps on flickr?

Thought I should be more specific on my original number (3) question, especially in light of imaginationfails post, (as well as aiming to have a painted Dark Star after the weekend), does the lack of licence still allow new posts incorporating ship pics, such as

(a) Painted official CTA minis.
(b) Ship conversions using official bits (such as my Dark Star)
(c) Scratchbuilds

I'm guessing (a) probably, (b) possibly (c) No.

I have about 95% of the original ship pics from before the first "end" of B5:ACtA in early 2008. I thought I posted them in a zip file a while back, but if folks want them again I can dig them up again.

Cheers, Gary

regarding point 2 of the OP

Matt said this regarding the B5 RPG forum

We'll move all the messages on this board to Other Games.

now it may or may not be different for ACTA?

So why would they move the B5 RPG stuff, but not the B5:ACtA stuff? Surely the license is for all B5 material I would think?

Cheers, Gary

dunno, Matt seems to have missed this post when he's been on.

Been thinking about this one. In one form or another, CTA will rise again, so we'll likely just rename this forum A Call to Arms, and let you chaps carry on!

uh oh, both me and Burger were positive, and not sarcastic, do I hear the four horsemen saddling up?

thats very good news :)

I'm relatively new to the forum, but I've been lurking on and off for a while.

I just want to thank Mongoose for keeping the ACTA forum up (even if the name changes). I was going to spend some time this weekend setting up wget to download the whole ACTA section, because there are so many useful threads, but now it looks like I won't have to.

So, thanks for not killing this forum. Even if we don't post, there are plenty of people out there who find it useful.
