Question about the mothballing

Ok, i dont post much anymore due to being disillusioned with the company but a lot of my freinds are asking about the end of the mini productions for B5, is this permanent of just temporary?

Matt advised that mini production was mothballed until 2009. That is as much as we know.

I guess would they know if they will do CTA minis again they would have told us. I think they just have plans to do minis again next year, but which kind of minis they dont seem to know yet.

Another possibility is, they plan on doing CTA minis again but dont want to get the hopes up in case anything goes wrong and they cant do it.
So nobody can call them lyars if they dont make new CTA minis.

My guess is that´s one of the things they need to sort out before they can make any announcements. I don´t think there is anything more solid than plans, ideas and good intentions at the moment, I would be surprised if there were anything more concrete yet.

I find the use of the term mothballed interesting. They didn't say put on hold, temporarily stopping, or no more production until some date. Mothballed things are put away indefinitely...kind of like Marcus from Babylon 5.

You use mothballing as a synonym for having the life sucked out of you for the woman you love?

Dark Angel

No, for cryogenically preserving the one you love in the hopes that he could someday be revived.

(I stole some text from wikipedia)

Hmmm with the mothballing of B5 minis, just as I am getting interested in it no less... I suspect that all those Minbari ships and EA Crusade era ships are going to bear uncanny similarities (read identical) to my Battlefleet Gothic Eldar and Tau respectively...

Did order myself a Marathon, Delphi and Apollo at least :-/

Matt said they will only mothball till 2009... so they at least plan to not mothball indefinitely.
What happens after that time has passed remains to be seen ^^...

Right, but I'm afraid MGP's long-term plans for miniatures don't have a good track record.

But one can still hope ^^

The term mothballing would refer to what happens to excess ships. The Iowa class BB's have been mothballed several times. Don't panic, I have every confidence that the mini's will be back. There is just to many people concearned over the temporary end of the line.

...and all four Iowa BBs were stricken from the registry in 1995. IOW, they are no longer mothballed; they're permanently retired.

Read that as you will.

Hope is the first step down the road of disappointment :(

The desert south of here has all the mothballed F-4s, A-6s and F-14s. Not sure when we'll get those out. Probably after 2009 I would guess...

Edit: I thought they all went there. My bad.
