Question about 2300 French Arm Supplement

lastbesthope

Mongoose
In the description of this on the main site it states

Combined with The French Arm sourcebook, referees will have between these two books everything they need for months of adventuring through an area of space troubled by a powerful alien invasion.

(Emphasis mine)

Yet I see no mention of the French Arm sourcebook anywhere on the site.....????

It has been mentioned in the last State of the Mongoose, but
I do not remember to have seen it mentioned anywhere else.

The French Arm supplement will follow after "Tools for Frontier Living"

The French Arm supplement combines an Atlas of the French Arm, along with Ships of the French Arm, Institutions, and Equipment, Vehicles and Weapons unique to the Arm.

Each world will get an approximately 2000-3000 word treatment, along with a map, possibly supplementary maps, and a bestiary and a set of encounter tables.

That's the plan. Each arm gets an adventure book, and then a sourcebook. Next will be the Chinese Arm, then the American Arm, and then the Core.

Assuming everything goes according to plan...

Also like the plan around the future Arm based books, it makes sense and items can be tailored to get the feel that the main settling powers have brought with them to their area of space.

French Arm Sourcebook

Boasting the largest number of colonies and settled planets, the French Arm has long been the pre-eminent thrust of colonization for Earth's most powerful nation and her allies and client-states. Now these long-settled worlds are stifling under the reign of distant overlords, and the promise of independence, and freedom, beckons.

To add to these challenges, a hostile alien force is testing human defenses, having already invaded one distant colony world. Will the struggling worlds of the French meet these challenges, or will they succumb to invasion or anarchy?

The French Arm Sourcebook contains details of all the settled worlds of the French Arm, including details on the various colonies. This book also includes information on many of the outposts dotting the uninhabited expanses between the settled worlds, including the Bessieres industrial outpost, the Exegenesis habitat at C1, and several others.

Along with information on the worlds of the Arm, this book also includes the material formerly published by GDW in "Ships of the French Arm", revised and updated for this new edition, along with the ships used by the alien Kaefers and Pentapods. A section on the services, organizations, and corporations common to the French Arm round out this book.

Any estimation on a release date yet? I know Mongoose doesn't like to speculate, but surely some sort of educated guess can be made.

Thanks.
Benjamin

Best guess? July/August? Not up to me, though, I don't set the schedule.

Big chunks are written, given that it includes Ships of the French Arm, but there is still a great deal left to do.

Thanks Colin. I must have been thinking about French Arm Adventures. Isn't that due a bit sooner?

Benjamin

French Arm Adventures will be relatively soon. Just finishing up the maps for that.

The French Arm Sourcebook will contain most, if not all, of the starships from the original "Ships of the French Arm" book, likely along with a few others, including Kaefer and Pentapod vessels. It may contain appropriate ships from Star Cruiser, it depends on space and time constraints.
