At first when I read the headline I was hoping for a wandering pulsar that was going to thread the needle and pass through the core of the another star. Now THAT would have potentially produced some interesting fireworks! Instead the pulsar is supposed to pass through the outer layers of the star. Still should make for some interesting views. Makes you wonder just how much of the outer surface the pulsar is going to steal as it passes through.
