Which you can poach...=p

Admittedly, I would like more attention, but I guess I'm used to it as a league player of many fleets. You rarely get as much as you want for the non-big four and ISA.

So....opinions on a fighter carrier with escort?

Well my first question would be what would it escort? @speed 6 lumbering The scouts would no doubt move away at some point it's not good enough to keep with them mainly due to lumbering. Mothership doesn't really need escort. hunter too quick in most cases. Shadow Omega in same boat as the Mothership. Nice idea but it will need stat change. And the only ship that needs escorting is the scout so it would just need a new hull all together.

It's a decent idea but the ship still needs a rework.

if the corps want escorts then they can always use artemis or the new chronos escorts :D

tbh i dont know what could be done to make this ship better without tipping it over the edge. maybe a 2AD missile rack?

You mean from the refits?

4 Missile Rack: The ship gains a single turret-mounted missile rack, Range 30, 2 AD, Precise, Slow-Loading, Super AP. This may
only be applied once.

Yeah that'd be a nice addition. I'd throw in interceptors 1 as it's only hull 4.

The main way that I could see a Fighter Carrier escorting would be in escorting any accompanying fighters. Further, such escorting wouldn't be the "protect them from enemy fighters" escorting covered by the Escort trait. It would be protecting the fighters from enemy fire until they're ready to zip out away from the protective umbrella.
There's one problem with that idea though - it's already in the game as the Guardian Array special rule, and those fanheads would probably scream blue murder if anyone else gained access to it. Even if it is the sort of thing that should be a standard ability for an escort vessel...

I would agree nekomata that Escort trait should incompass as normal interceptor coverage like the Guardian Array. As Earth Force are meant to be the masters of the interceptor. They should have this ability as normal on escort vessels.

Isn't one of the reasons that its not EA / no needed is that all EA ships already have interceptors and that the Maximus is presently dedicated to providing support to captial ships that don't have it? :?:

Incidently where does it say that EA have the best Interceptor technology amongst those races that use it?

general assumption I guess, because they use them the most in the show. I suspect the Abbai have the best as they managed to combine them with a funky shield system!

exactly, just because they have interceptors everywhere doesnt mean they are the best. and guardian arrays could be classed as an entirely differant technology loaning interceptors across space.
if anyone has the best interceptor technology its probably the defensively minded abbai but they mainly use shields now instead (still lost too many interceptors IMO).

I made that statement due to the on screen evidence that Earth Force use interceptors most. And the fluff of the game with them being a interceptor heavy fleet.

My main issue with not being able to loan interceptors isn't from any idea of "EA are superior" or anything like that, but in that once you've learned to shoot down enemy shots, why do you ignore any shots passing close to your ship just because they're not going to hit you yourself? It just feels wrong that escorts would happily let all those shots fly straight past them towards the ship that they're meant to be protecting. What takes the buscuit is that the one race who are thoughtful enough to try and protect their fellow comrades? The Centauri..

I think the way I would probably try to work it is that all escorts would be able to throw out their interceptors to something like 3". To represent that the Centauri maybe are better at it than other races, I would then say that any ship of theirs can throw out their interceptors to 3", whilst their Escorts can throw out their interceptors to 8".

but then you are just unbalancing issues for the fleets that don't have interceptors or an excort, they get even weaker

can't say I ever saw it as Broken, interceptors have always seemed fine to me if I am honest.
