probably an unpopular question/opinion

as someone who had collected about half of one fleet and just started another when you dropped your miniatures lines, I can't help but feel it is slightly hipocritical of you to release your latest book for B5 ACTA with pics of miniatures next to the ship entries.....

Hypocritical would be having an advert for the minis being for sale in the supplement.

I see from your two posts that you are obviously unhappy about the cancellation of the minis line, I symathise, as I'm sure do many other forum members, but since the B5 licence is running out in a couple of months, there's not really much that can be done by Mongoose now.

the real shame is that i enjoyed the few raid level games i have played with the minis i had got.... but now its almost impossible to enlarge and expand my fleet to something more versatile and enjoyable..... I am sorry to hear mongoose are losing the B5 license.... but I am sure they can find other uses for the game mechanics.....

there are loads on ebay these days, good time to pick them up, or you can still order from ironwind

ok to order from iron wind - postage makes them rediculously expensive..... and i just checked ebay.... searched for centauri and found 2 ships.... and one drazi fire hawk..... thanks for the help, but i think I may just give up on acta.... and concentrate on other games...... so long folks :)

Just to clarify, Mongoose are not losing the licence as I understand it, they have opted not to renew it so far as I am aware, a subtle difference that my previous post may have made unclear.

As for finding other uses for the game mechanics, they already have, the game engine for Victory at Sea is derived from the ACTA rules quite heavily.

There are also a few fleets for sale on the ACTA forum :)

more the fact that WB are not interested in renewing it with anyone as they have to have a liason and all the paperwork etc and its not worth the money to them anymore.

Well I'm just being careful to clear up what I know about the situation as I understand it. I caused such a stooshie last time someone thought I misrepresented a situation regarding Mongoose that I tread very carefully now.

yeah i get that.
what i wrote is from other interested parties asking WB about the license now mongoose dont have it and basically what WB said about it.

You were not told the complete truth :)

It is not worth it to WB for the money that other parties _want_ to pay. Believe me, if they offered what we were paying, WB would accept - but as we indicated ourselves, the licence is probably not worth that.
