BTW, on weak and crits,on AD, a 1 always misses, 6 does not always hit. A six on the DD will always cause a point of damage, but the weak trait specifically states that it can't cause crits. Nothing says a weak weapon can't benefit from plunging fire. As long as the shot is at long or extreme range, you get the bonus. I don't think I have seen any secondaries that will reach over 20", so they aren't much of an issue.

20" is the maximum range of secondaries, this occurs on 3 ships (Bearn, Yamato, Richelieu).
Some main weapons are weak though, such as Leander, Edinburgh, Brooklyn...
