Banded Mongoose
Does it seem like the prices on this stuff is a little skewed? Why do 6 USMC Force Recon cost the same as 10 MEA infantry, or either of the command squads? Seems like the Marine player gets shafted with this. They must be some Bad-Asses if they cost almost twice as much as regular infantry. You can get a command squad of 5 PLA AND a vehicle for the same price as 6 force recon. Doesn't seem fair...

Actually, it is my understanding the USMC Force Recon is $5.00 US less ($24.95) than the MEA Squad (which only has 8 figures by the way).

yup, msprange mentioned a while ago its a typo for the moment, in fact they should be $24.95 or £15 depending where your from, im sure in time thta will change. that said after seeing the prototypes if they came out exactly the same (wich i doubt) id be prepared to pay that little extra as i wouldnt need many.

Hopefully the quality of the minis will improve with each wave (as promised), to the point that the SAS and Force recon will look as good as the prototypes.

I'm sincerely hoping they do.

Hopefully mongoose has learnt from the mistakes with wave 1.

I too am a gamer that demands value for my gaming dollar. I bought the 1st wave Challenger II and two squads of British infantry for ~$75. Since then I have added two more Challenger II made by "Forces of Valor" for a total of $12.00. The FoV Challenger II's are 1:72 scale and look virtually identical to the Mongoose models in terms of size. Add to this that they are diecast and crammed with detail and you have a vehicle that will play just as well as the "official" vehicle at 1/5th the price. The Mongoose Challenger II is pretty well destined to become a display piece. That is unless I need 3 Challenger II's for a game. (OUCH!)

Mongoose had best adjust with future waves. There are plenty of excellent models out there that could be used to play their game.

Love the rules!!!!!!

Hate the prices.

Let the banning begin!!!!!! :)

Hate the prices, but our prices are lower.

If you'd get prices like €25 ($33) for the tanks (when everything FOV and others are about €16, with better details and quality) and €30 ($40) for squads, you'll probably hate them even more...

I think that the Wave 1 figures are more or less in the acceptable level, but the Wave 1 tanks are definitely on the poor side, and overpriced for their quality.

The Challenger II is particularly a very poor model.
