A Quick question for anyone who knows?

How usefull would this book be for anyone running a 3rd Age Game?

Which Book? Players Guide or Uz?

Are you using MRQ system in #A or RQ2/3?

It is hard saying based on the previews, but if you are using MRQ as a system for the third age much of it will be useful rules wise, but the background material is all set in the 2A.

I would think the Players Guide would probably be more portable, with the rules for non-human character creation probably being usable in the third age and so on.

I like that the tribes of Prax are eventually given some recognition.

I notice that the sable riders aren't mentioned, though. Were they a minor tribe in the second age?
In fact I don't know how the Praxian tribes made it into the 3rd age, though there were many refugees from the EWF (many of whom became probably slaves).
There was also a great warrior/hero (whose name I can't remember :? , wasn't it Jaldon something?) at the end of the 2nd/beginning of the 3rd age.

The Uzuz maul is a joke right? it's a misprint it must be, otherwise I'm outa here, No system can be that stupid.

To what are you referring? The fact that it uses the Axe skill or its monumental damage?

If it is the former, I already noted about that earlier. If it is the latter, perhaps you should wait to pass judgment until you see the narrative on them (like the fact that only four of them made it out of Wonderhome), including the negatives involved with trying to use a magical ENC 10 item.

"wait to pass judgement"...that's a good one! I think you've forgotten which board you're on.

I guess the question would be who else wants to live in Prax and the wastes? In fact, who else is able to live in the wastes?

Jaldon Goldentooth, sacked Pavis in around 970ST after (literally) chewing his way through the walls. IIRC, the Praxians believe he will return at the end of the 3rd age to fight with them during the Hero Wars

Prax and the Wastes in the Second Age was pretty much the same as in the First and Third Ages, blasted and very hard to live in. So, the Praxian Tribes didn't see much difference between the Ages, they just kept going, wandering through the Wastes and trying to survive. In fact, they were quite strong

When the EWF went down, many Praxians joined the Invincible Golden Horde and attacked Dragon Pass. They were mostly Solar worshippers, followers of Yelmalio, Yelm and certain small Sacred Societies. They didn't return, for obvious reasons. That's why the Sun Dome Temple in Sun County was abandoned, why the Ostrich Tribe lost all their Yelm worshippers, why Yelmalio is not widely worshipped amongst the Tribes and why the Unicorn Riders are still weak. It might also explain how the Pure Horse Tribe was so weak that it was shrugged off by the invading trolls at the start of the Third Age. Or perhaps they didn't take part and so were allowed to settle as the Grazers, that probably makes more sense.

In my game, Sun Hawk saw the Dragon Trick, using his keen vision, and turned back, which is why the Sun Hawk Society flourishes in Prax.

Jaldon Toothmaker/Jaldon Goldentooth - he posts on this list.

He was active in the Second Age, got cursed by the EWF never to enter Prax and keeps being reborn when all the Praxian Tribes are united. I think.
