So, it's been a week since the tournament and, while I thoroughly enjoyed the event, I've had a couple of thoughts on how the next one could be just a little bit better.
1: More variety of scenarios. I know there were 11 tables with 10 scenarios between them, but that's not quite what I mean. It would have been nice to have played fewer duplicate games, I played There is Only War 3 times and Lost in the Snow twice in succession. I know I'm not the only one who had this issue. Something to avoid players playing the same scenario more than once would be really good.
2: The victory point values were a little off. It bugged me that I finished behind someone who won fewer games than I did. As it stood, 2 minor wins (13 points each) were worth less than a major win and a minor loss (20 and 7). Adjusting the values for a minor win/loss to 14 and 6 would correct this, unless that's specifically what you were going for that is.
3: The fortress scenario, while it looked absolutely amazing, was VERY heavily weighted in favour of the defender. Given that the attacker would have just come off a loss in the previous scenario, this meant that the attacking player was about to have a very bad day.
All told, these were minor quibbles in an otherwise excellent day. I'll be back for the next one, whether anything changes or not.
