Hi guys,
New counters are on the cards (so to speak), but we need to make some time for them, as we are planning something a bit special. . .
I'm in for plenty(at least 2 sets), as long as they're compatible with minis. With so many so called "...contact with the base" issues popping up, and no standard size base list officially sanctioned (and published with the core rules!!!), making counters that are anything other than "Official" or "Tournament Legal" with interface rules for the new set, the old set, and the metal minis is just asking for trouble.
If they're not 100% compatible with the metal, same issue.
If they superscede the metal minis, same issue, unless you're looking to rapidly get out of the metal mini market on B5.
I think that the Pirates style plastic card constructible type would be cool, but ultimately would be the demise of the metal mini line, and perhaps very expensive and SKU intensive for a retailer on an arugably low volume game.
Pogs, or round counters made from plastic, with the sizes as "Official" as the bases for the metal minis, including the hex for fighter wings, would probably be the best. I second the idea of the reverse being a "burned out hulk" style image!
