Has anyone tested these yet? The rules look good to me on paper but I've had some feedback on a game and it didn't perform well. I'm having game tonight and intend to include them so I'll report back, but I'm just wondering what other people have seen.

Obviously everyone wants them toned down but we don't want to see them as useless.

and its takn serious nerf too, not only has it lost its 2 WS fighters its down to dodge 5+
 
It's still probably comparable to the Liati though given AA. I don't think a fighter or two, or Dodge 4+, would be a problem though but not both.

The drop to dodge 5+ does make it fragile, I agree.

It has traded dodge and fighters for scout and command +2. I'd be happy to see it at command +1 and keep the dodge.

The WS gunship is in general tougher than the Liati, but less well armed and lacks AF. The Enforcer is only slightly tougher but no better armed.
 
I cant see the reason for giving it a scout ability in the first place, when you have the whitestar with the ability.

Loseing 2 fighters and -1 to your doge roll to gain Scout and Com +2 (although i do like the com bonus) just doesnt seem to balance out or make any sense!!!

Keep in mind for the balance of it, you are probably only going to take one of these ever in a fight. Compare it to the Command Omega. You aren't going to spend all your points on Command Omegas.

Keep in mind for the balance of it, you are probably only going to take one of these ever in a fight. Compare it to the Command Omega. You aren't going to spend all your points on Command Omegas.

I dont think there will be any FAP points left to buy a an Enforcer, most ISA players will have to buy normal gunships to replace the lost firepower of the WS. I personally would buy the carrier over an Enforcer and a normal Gunship.... Or a Tara'lin.
 
I had a 3pt Armageddon game last night and the ISA player took 2 gunships and 1 enforcer and put them in a squadron. They seemed very powerful. As they are simply double whitestars it doesn't surprise me. Why has the gunship got away with no change when it's exactly the same as a whitestar?

He only chose 1 Whitestar because they just aren't a viable choice anymore when you have the gunship in this level of game.
 
I just don't like the model for the Gunship. Bollocks to the game design, this is a minis game! It looks like I myself, Hindsight that new guy, chewed and subsequently spit out sixteen pieces of Juicy Fruit and cobbled together something as closely resembling the general White Star shape as my artless fingers could manage, and topping it off with a couple of paper clips protruding from various frontal pointing protrusions.

My White Star on the other hand (aside from being stupid big for this scale) is a beautiful and masterfully sculpted rendition of the creative efforts of the original B5 Creative Team!

Take any list, divide the points down by whatever until you have an army full of White Star ones. Your scout rating will have gone up so high you'll be able to roll dice from several weeks back and still have them negate any of that hateful Minbari stealth! Can you see me? Let me check! Hrm, I rolled a dice on a tuesday with a +42 modifer! I think I can see you now, or and every gun in my list has been twin linked by the other 42 White Stars, so I hope you didn't have plans for dinner, this could take a while!

I'm just bitter, I thought it was a White Star variant, and instead we get a variant of something that does what its supposed to do just fine. Something new to do with all these many many many white star models is just silly.

Maybe I should stop bitching about the Gunship, buy one, and wait to pass judgement until I can paint it the way I'd recon it should look like and not lather it with glitter like the original painter figured best represented hybrid vorlon technology. You know... with sparklies.
 
The Gunship looks much better in real life than its pic suggests. There are definitely far worse ships than the gunship! (See the WS carrier...)

2 White stars have the advantages any two ships have over 1. They can act as better init sinks, are able to spread their fire power, force the opponent to deal with multiple targets, and weather crits better. I'd say those advantages alone cover the difference
