Playtest Pack-Official?

Sorry for my lack of information on this stuff, I have been away for a while. But, many of the items in the Playtest Pack state that they are an official change to the 2nd Ed. rules. Just to be clear, are those all now official?

As I understand it, the playtest pack is effectively text from a draft of the final CTA book Powers and Principalities, which will be released in the next couple of months.

Since the book will be official rules and changes to fleet lists when it comes out, I believe that is why the text of the playtest pack sounds so official and declarative.

We will have the final rules soon enough.

I would have thought they would be spending all there time on the new fleets and play testing them rather then changing rules and fleets that there not going to support in the future.

P&P was likely underway not long after the 2E rules were released, so they might as well finish it rather than let months of work go to waste. I'm glad that they're going to release fixes and adds for B5:ACTA rather than just abandon it, unlike many other games companies I'd wager, as I'd expect that many of the current players will still continue with it. I know I will.

what new fleets? originally there were some planned, but that was before even the release of 2e. there are not new fleets in P&P, just some new variants.

Think he means the fleets designed for the non-B5 ACTA v3 rules.

Does this statement mean there will be a new liscence then, not a set of rules and ship designs like lets say full thrust?

Any Clues on which one?
