Played an interesting Klingon fleet last night....

deadshane

Mongoose
5xE4 Frigate
3xD7 Command Cruiser

990pts

No way to get rid of my extra initiative points so I've got the plus two.
DEEP initiative sink.
E-4's were WAY more sturdy than I gave them credit for. I didnt think about that little 75pt ship effectively having 20 sheilds in the FA.

I was all over my fed opponent like stink on poop!

I may have to explore the mass frigate fleets of the Klingons more...was pretty awesome.

I know. At first you're thinking you'd never take an E4 over an F5, but once you're in phaser-2 range there isn't much difference, apart from the fact that you've got more ships, more initiative sinks and you're a lot less bothered about losing an E4 than an F5.

You get three E4s for just over the cost of 2 F5s.

I'm not sure about 3 D7Cs in the fleet (I'd have been tempted to switch one for an FD7).

Did you go for a frigate wolfpack that swarmed your opponents big ships while your cruisers stayed at range, or did you go with a two wave sweep or what?

Yeah, details man, details! What was your opponent using, what was the mission, how did it go turn by turn, I'm interested to read more.
