PLA FAV

loking back in my mind i remember the pla FAV had the ability to carry passengers, but ive noticed on the new card they have now tken that of shame as i was looking forward to my PLA SOF riding in my favs around the battle field.

so a request to msprange is can we have a version of the FAV mybe without the cannon for carrying troops about please ie use the present kit drop the top guy and put 3 to a box for 50 points

Sounds good to me, but I would like to see the EFTF get a Landrover 1st

I agree two variants for PLA FAVs and EFTF Landrovers, that being a heavy support weapon including gunner, or no gunner and enough room to transport troops, would be a nice bit of diversity for your force.

Then i possible command variant for both, in the the instance of "hit and run" missions.

I saw someone talking bout the US SRAT i thought that looked pretty ultra-modern too, i could see a Force Recon using two of them.

Wouldn't force recon just use a shadow.... although probably with a 50cal rather than the ckem.

Why not a box with one cannon and two without? That way you'd get a support option to your SOF transports in the box. You could do a similar release for the landies with two transports and one TOW equipped. Maybe it could be done for shadows too (ie one CKEM shadow , two with 50.cals)

what would be cool is on wave 4 the pla anti air jeep came in a box of 2 plus a fav now that would rock. as i cnat see me wishing to have more than 2 per 3k in my force of the anti air vehicle.

cuz for production costs a FAV is equal to 1 small vehicle and 3 troops, now if 6 men are put at £15 and 3 small vehicles are put at £20 i recon 2 favs is possably worth production wise £20 in comparison.


small vehicles (teknics and shadows) are valued in at £6.67 while infantry are sold at £2.50 individulay so 3 guys is £7.50 and plus the fav = £14.16 each !!! now factor in whatever you like and id say mongoose are looking at the FAV being worth £10-12 each so 2 favs for £20 would be good for us and stomachable for mongoose.

ie currently the fav is boxed with 4 command - so thats for your £20 - £10 worth of command and £10 worth of fav.

if the pla anti air cars are priced at say £6.67 area then your looking at £23.34 for the box, but would mean they shifted more units and boxes so £20 would be ok for mongoose as they would shift more FAVs and cover that little extra cost.

so which would you prefer to see ?

or

2) a box of 2 pla AA jeeps and a FAV for £20

in doing this i personaly prefer option 1 as a command box plus a fav box gives me a full unit.

That's true and a good point. I would have thought though that a FAV would be a bit less than 10 pounds (I would have expected it to cost about the same as a technical production wise but there is more detail). I would go with the second option unless an FAV squad came out. The main thing is that atm, I don't want that many command squads (I'm feeling this with my EFTF and warriors not the FAVs) however the only way to get them is with a command squad. I do however now have over 2,000 points so a second command squad is justifiable but I do want more warriors but no the extra command squads and I'm sure that some PLA players would feel the same about the FAVs.
I'd still like it if things like FAVs and warriors had their own packets too and hopefully they will come.

actualy at the point im at 3 Favs aint so bad, thing us with PLA its darn easy to go over 2k so a second command squad is ace. the 3rd is of use as well though as it allows you to convert a pla tank into a command tank by putting the torso on top and use a drawing pin plate as a hatch.

giving you 2 command squads a command tank and 3 FAVs is fine, but i whant another 3 favs but i def dont need any more command squads, as effectily ive now got 3 2 inf and 1 tank i cant se me ever needing more.

also as a great lover of the FAV id like to see 2 pref 3 in a box so i can feild lots of them, im just a fan of fast attack.

ideal world id have to max out on them instead of APCs ie replace every apc with 2 fav's but due to costs at a current £20 each now i wont be doing this, £20 for 3 would be a god send, £20 for 2 id be ok with.

hope mongoose put 3 in a battalion box set as a way of upping out squads.

id also like to know if mongoose intend to sell them seperatly in the future ?

No question there. The SAS just don't look cool in warriors...LRs on the other hand are just the thing to make them look like a fast moving/light weight heavy hitting force and would compliment their already light armour feel.

Seeing SAS using Warriors would be like seeing USMC infantry riding horses...

However seeing them abseiling out of Lynx's would be another cool way for them to get about... 8) Other than that they NEED Landies to get around on the ground. Hmmm I think it would probably be too much to have a Lynx with a a squad of SAS in it, and a Landie slung underneath.... :twisted:

Landies are a must have, not doubt about it. Are mongoose planning on doing Landies? Please, please PWEASE?
