Paranoia sourcebook : Fallout

Mongoose
As far as I can tell, Paranoia is essentially about troubleshooters inside a vast arcology, controlled by an insane computer.

So, why not expand the setting a bit, and release a sourcebook detailing the wastelands outside of the city?

It could be a nice crossover to a game that feels like Fallout, while not requiring a new set of rules. Paranoia's city seems a likely thing to encounter in a Fallout (or Wasteland) game.

Pasuuli, you might want to look at the hardcover mission collection PARANOIA Flashbacks, which reprints and updates many of the classic 1980s West End Games adventures for the original edition of PARANOIA. Those early missions often sent the Troubleshooters Outdoors. The experience wasn't closely similar to Fallout, but you can certainly find precursors here and there.

It is possible Mongoose may produce a supplement for the current PARANOIA line -- I've always wanted the title Outdoors Sector -- but so far as I know, it's not yet planned. If it ever happens, that book would probably present a wide variety of versions of the Outdoors, which the ever-wise Gamemaster could mix, match, and embroider as suits his high purpose. One of those would have to be Fallout-like, I'd think; it's an easy choice.

There are certainly several missions in print that head Outside (and one supplement that goes Under-side). Not to usher you off elsewhere, but you may want to seek feedback at Paranoia-Live, where many, many fans of PARANOIA hang out... some of whom will no doubt have had experiences beyond the perimeter of Alpha Complex.

I have one adventure coming up that'll deal with the blasted and radioactive wasteland of the OUTDOORS!

The Armed Forces External Target Range.
