Um....we all got it wrong? I don't think so......it's colour. with a u. It says so in the oxford English dictionary. Now just learn to spell and speak correctly and we can all get along, that's good little colonials. :D

Hey, here's an idea for everyone! How about we create a single institution to protect the language and determine how everyone can speak! Its done such wonders for modern french...

There's a very good reason for slowly but surely getting rid of French as a language. Let's face it, it's only used by the French and a few Canadians, so making them speak a proper language, even bastardised US English, can't be bad.

Vallejo paints just found out that if you put them upsidedown in a glass after you shak them and then turn them back later they should be fine ........ so he said.... :) due to gravity

ARISE THREAD! I SUMMON THEE BACK TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING!

With the resurrection done, time for the reason I pulled this back to life. I mentioned else where I bought Delphi, Chronos and EA Reinforcements box sets. I just painted them in the last few days.

I hate the Avenger. It is an excruciatingly bland mini and I managed to paint it in 15 minutes. It won't win awards, but it also probably won't be on the table much.

Also with it are my Oracle Scouts and T-bolts. The Oracles are also less than thrilling minis, but there are some details worth spending some time on.

The 'bolts got my usual base treatment along with the usual squad markings.

For some reason some of the pictures are unusually dark.

No Avenger close up to spare you the horrors.

Next up are the Olympus Corvettes and the Dephi scouts. For the Olympus, I decided to go back to one of my ideas for the Hyperion. After painting them in a metallic base, I dry brushed a light grey on them. Then I picked out some detail in black ink and bright silver. Needs more detail work, but I have yet to decide how I want to detail the hangars, so the details wait for another day.

The Delphis, being a post civil war ship, I did in a dark grey, really a near black. Guns were picked out in silver, some yellow was dashed on for color and a slightly lighter grey was used in some areas to pick up some detail.

The Chronos got the same treatment (as will the Warlock I have on order.)

The Hermes, the last of the ships, gave me a chance to play with the color scheme a bit. Since they are much older than most ships, I decided to stick with a grey, a very light one in this case. It is the grey I used to drybrush on the Olympus. After that I picked out some details in blue, filled in the depressions in white and liked the look. The engine fins and gun were done in my usual metallic to represent the difficulty of keeping a coat of paint on such things in reality.

I want to mention that the fins were a royal pain to get on.

They look good!!! I like the bases - having a starry background helps.

one thing I'm not a big fan of is using a straight up metallic paint. they're too reflective, and minis should be dull not bright...I usually wind up mixing up a metallic with another color or just using it for highlights.

I'm seriously toying with the idea of not putting the fins on my hermes. even if I can get them glued, they're going to knock loose real easy.

you've made much more progress than I. I'm still basing my ships, and have two omegas I haven't worked on in months. *shakes fist in air* "damn you real life!!!!"

I also did my hermes this week (I'll post fleet photos soon!) and I got the fins on through the use of putty - I attached a small blob to the back and glued the fins onto it - it's hardly noticeable after you paint the figure up and it's in the position the actual engine would be anyway.
