My usual resource based on other people's shipbuilding.
My main guidline is british have lighter almost white decks and darker grey sides and superstructure.
Germans have medium grey hull. light grey superstructure and darker wooden decks.
It's enough to set them apart in 1/6000 anyway!
By far the most interesting ships I've painted are the prewar Austria-Hungary ships, green hulls make for great variety![/url]

I've just decided to start a career in the Kaiserliche Marine and ordered my first ships (1st and 2nd scouting groups, Hallmark 1/6000).
Assuming I'll be using Vallejo paints, what colors would you use for the German ships? I'm obviously not looking for a perfect match (I hate blending colors), close enough is perfect for me.
