Order taking forever?

I also got books 2-4 yesterday (already received book 1 the week before). Very happy so far! I finally got through book 1 (great changes!), and died in book 2. Ah, well, try, try, again!

Are your books 3 and 4 the corrected versions?

Book 3 has no section 192. That one's only obvious if you play the book for a while (you can't avoid this section). They accidently place a picture over the top of it!

Book 4 has a truncated equipment section. You have no chance to pick your weapon, shield et cetera.

Good luck. :)

Dammit - less happy now. :( Both are incorrect. Also, the Action Chart for the bonus adventure in book 4 looks like it was cobbled together in MS Paint. :S

Will they be replacing books, especially where it makes the adventure unplayable? What should the missing text be?

Section 192 should read:

If you possess a Glowing Crystal, turn to 267.

If you do not, turn to 44.

As far as replacements go it's not looking too good. Kimah emailed MP and was told he could get a refund but that they didn't have replacements. I have emailed but have, as yet, had no response. Maybe you should email them too and we can all harass them!?

This is correct - we will (of course) refund anyone who is not happy with their books, but we cannot replace them (replacements simply do not exist).

I trust that Mongoose will avoid these sort of quality errors on future products, or this to be expected on everything that is forthcoming?

I hope you will find these errors are exceptionally rare.

Should I take this to mean that all the collectors edition books 3 and 4 have these printing errors and no corrected copies will be printed?

I checked my 3 and 4, I had assumed they were printed in the US since that's where they shipped from, but they both say printed and bound in the UK. If there won't ever be any corrected editions then I guess that's that, I just want to confirm whether that's the case :)

Erm... I have a sense of déjà-vu here... http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/forum.php Notice this comment by Xex:
It would be nice though, if error' \s like these were caught before they were made.
Ahem... :?

And then, I find this one funny:
On the bright side, all copies with the mistake will probably become rare collector's items far into the future.
I guess it will be the opposite: my corrected copy of book 3 will worth more than the ones with the error. 8)

And say, I've posted this back in March about a mistake in the mini-adventure of book 3 and never got an answer: "On section 96, you are given the choice to hide in the workshop by turning to section 17. However, section 17 talks about putting Bitterleaf Extract in a stew in the kitchen, which is clearly not the right section." Can someone check if this has been at least corrected?

I can't put my hand on my heart and say there will be no new copies printed - it is entirely likely that there wil be. However, it will also likely be some time before they appear.

Would I then be entitled to a corrected version if i was to hold out for the possible reprint?

I'm waiting to find out if a corrected book 4's on the way as well. My copy of book 4's got a bit of text going off the bottom of a page but it's the mini adventure's introduction so it's no major loss. Consequently I haven't written my name on the scroll in the front yet 'till I know if it's the final copy I'll have or not. I don't see any pint sending back a faulty bok with a minor text defect only to recieve another that also has the equipment section missing (and then maybe recieve a fully corrected one at a later date).

In my copy, this has NOT been corrected.

Thanks for the reply Matthew! :)

I'd likely be willing to purchase a corrected version later should they become available to supplement the current copy. Although I played all the books when I was younger, I'm more of a collector now. If nothing else, I'm assuming that the paperbacks would have some of the problems corrected?

Despite some of the printing issues I'm overall pretty pleased, if not for Mongoose there wouldn't be any new Lone Wolf books period :P

That would be a safe assumption, though they are still some time away.

Well, some good news - Book 5 is due in to our warehouse any day now, and Book 6 is already at print!

Inquisitive as I am I have to ask...
How did that happen?
Was it like predicted here above (sending uncorrected docs to the us printers) or what went wrong this time???
