OOC THREAD:Thalia

looking at your suggest feat now.and is primarily a boarderer just used a couple spells to give it a Ranger effect.Ie animal friend.
I am content with my home bow.
But your idea is good to build a well rounded archer. Thing is I am roleplaying a weak archer or would not need the animal to alter the
effects of combat. Character strongpoint is in his being able to distract and then surprise opponets.Or at least what I had in mind.
And to help me make sure I am reading things correctly blew image from novel size to newspaper size so is in big letters and close enough to not miss important things.

ok your feats you get like at level 1 one of 3 choices I have a scholoarly background.so it is chosen . at 3rd you get a bonus spell, or choose another set of spells to cast. I chose to advance in my current.Just need wisdom up to where have +1 modifier andcan cast Animal ALLY

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that you have to have a +1 wisdom mod to cast animal ally.

reason have dodge was building towards gaining Archer's Bane but looking at combat expertise right now

Good lord I feel like I am pushing calm of the adept on you....but, if you used it it would increase you wisdom +2 and you could cast the spell and gain your animal ally.

edit: nevermind-need 13 wisdom for it.

hmm good feat but hopeing to not have to get that close to an enemy prefering to engage in unseen areas ie shoot him in the back of the head while he is engaged in eliminateing my pet.

thing is I am not sure I can even get it.I have Dodge, Background,Animal Ally.Summon creature Basic and a +1 to power points should have taken all my feat choices. I think.

Scholar level 1 choices 1 of 6 New Sorcery Style,Scholar,Background,BasePower Points,Knowledge is Power.
Level 2 1 choice of 2 +1 Power Point,New Sorcery Style
Level 3 1 of 2 Choices Advanced Power,or Bonus Spell.

ok this is what I have level 1: Background
level 2: +1 power point
level 3 : Bonus Spell: Animal Ally.

You could rearange your abilities like this 16 14 14 12 13 10. That would give you the extra power point and you would only lose 8 skill points overall I think.

Right now you have th 4 BPP + 1 at 2nd level = 5

The Wis mod would give you +1 for 6 overall

ok this is what I have level 1: Background
level 2: +1 power point
level 3 : Bonus Spell: Animal Ally.

Level 2 you get +1 pp and New Sorcery Style
Level 3 you get Advanced Spell and Bonus Spell

So you get two spells at level 3 of scholar and a new Sorcery Style and its basic spell at level 2.

if that was the case you would also get all 6 at level 1. depends on who is running the game but in my experience thus far you get to choose just one of those things seperated by Comma. also reason I didnot add Favored Terrain+1 because chose track.

right I can alter my attributes but I call that cheating heheh I am content with waiting until 8th to get a permenanent animal

What are you talking about? You choose one new Sorcery Style every time it says to choose one new Sorcery Style. Or you take a Sorcery Feat.

At level 1 you choose one new Sorcery Style + Knowledge is Power +Scholar Background + 4BPP
At level 2 you choose an additional one new Sorcery Style + 1 Power Point
At level 3 you get an Advanced Spell + Bonus Spell

Borderer gets Track and Favored Terrain at first level.

I don't know who has been running your games, but you get all the class features for each level you take.

Well it was also just pointed out to me that we used 80 points to create our characters and you only used 78. So you have an extra 2 points to use somewhere. Boost that wisdom and get your animal companion.

Evil_Trevor
Character generation:-
Ability scores :- using a average '5' score for the heroic generation system , results in giving an average ability score of 13. This gives a total of 78 points for all ability scores, bieng generous we'll round this up to 80 points to divide up for basic abbilities.

Welcome to the game Tofu.

Surely it is not cheating to follow the gm's instructions on character gen? Your choice tho'

plus, Trevor also said we would stay at level 5 for a long time and should not count on advancement (the nature of line gaming that an adventure takes a lot of time to play).

If you can get a permanent animal now by improving your character build within the rules (i.e. 80 ability points like the rest of us) that would be very cool.  A bird that could do some reconnaissance would be very helpful.

Tofu,

Remember that you can easily increase the number of pp you have above your base level temporarily e.g. ppwer drain, and there is the 'pushing it' rule which allows you to use more pp than you actualy have, to cast the spell this would require one days rest per extra point used which is not a high price to pay for one or two points.

Power drain while a bit nastier does not leave the 'victim' with any lasting damage and allows you to have double your base pp.

I am a little confused about Tofu's history and racial background.  His mother was a Pelishtim Shemite (note the Pelishtim are not nomads, as you mentioned on your 1st draft sheet.  They are settled Meddow Shemites.)  But Tofu was born and raised in Uttaru Kuru.  Has he ever been to Shem?  In the history you wrote it does not sound like it, and he does not even have Shemitish as a language. Although I think you have not taken as many languages as you are allowed, especiallu consider your INT. You should.

I thought it was usual practice with half-breeds that they take the racial background skills and favoured classes of the culture they were raised in.  I believe some GMs allow a mix of racial packages if one parent's physical attributes are more strongly inherited.  For example, a half Vanir / have Zamoran raised in Shadizar may be big and naturally clumsy (+2con-2dex) but have all the Zamorian cultural familiarity with thievery (favoured class: thief and Zamorian skill bonuses).

I don't have my books with me as I write this, but I don't think there are stats for the Utarru Kuran peoples in the core rulebook, so perhaps you and your last GM decided Pelishtim racial statistics were a likely match for Utarru Kurani?  I would imagine they would be similar to Vendhyan or Kitian.  At least I could buy that scholar would remain a favoured class.

Of course you are under no obligation to post your characters full history, or reveal anything about your past to us other players.  You can say what you wish about your background in character, in the game.  You can even lie to us.

But you may want to consider some of these things as you imagine Tofu's life.  You should defiantly re-count how many languages you know and take the max (assumedly including Shem - Boo would be happier speaking Shemitish with you if you tried, the best time of his life was among Shemite nomads.)

Welcome to the game, hope you bring a hawk. And I hope you write a detailed account of your appearance as you enter our camp.

I sure hope Daz comes back soon.

Donato seems a cool character, and Daz writes him well. I think the game would be much enriched if he would contribute more of Donato's reactions. Recently I'm wondering if the Zingarian has spent the last while sleeping obliviously by the fire. I might give him a kick if I thought it would wake him up.

Yeah, I was wondering when he would be back. I liked the idea of the dashing noble being so troubled and down on his luck he was willing to travel with barbarians and thieves.
