OOC THREAD:Thalia

Magic use in Hyborian age:
Ok seems we got off to a bad start.Tofu is a Leyman trying to be a priest.
His message of Ishtars love is preached through his use of nature.ie some spells are seen.
Open to suggestions how I can roleplay my self better without drawing the
negative reactions from before, Ie maybe say "Do you belive in ishtar? Let me preform for you one of her simpliest of Miracles." Kinda just jumped off the band wagon with out thought of the times we live in and how one who just poofs out magic can find a dagger slitting his throat as he slept.
So open to suggestions how best to portray a Minister of Nature?{Oh no,Here comes the darts. hehe just teasing you all.}

Tofu, I have no problems with you playing your character however you wish. However, we all roleplay too, and our characters will not always like each other, or do the nice thing or the right thing. For example, look at Daz's posts early in the thread, he is playing a Zingaran character, and Zingarans have very strange ideas about women, so Donato refused to talk to Jiao, or even acknowledge her. He 'thinks' about her in offensive and disparaging terms. and that is great, I was really enjoying it because good roleplaying like that makes for memorable adventures. The sort you talk about for years afterwards. I am already boring my roleplaying friends with tales about my (very) lucky shot and (I HIT THE BIRDIE) If we all liked each other, and welcomed players as long lost buddies playing could seem bland and too much like routine polite life. Part of the pleasure can be in developing respect between very different characters who normally would not associate with each other. And sometimes I have played characters that were unlikeable - I am thinking of a noble Khitan scholar, who remained universally hated throughout the game. - but the roleplaying was fun. And the Lady Yla paid the other characters, which guaranteed party cohesion. I miss her, but had to retire her to NPC status because she got too powerful. :(
So roleplay Tofu as you wish, and then enjoy our roleplaying in turn.
