OOC THREAD:Thalia

It is just a table showing what your saves or attack bonus should be. You never have to add them together. Just look at what value the table has for your character level in that class.

LOOK AT PAGE 83 OF THE [POCKET GUIDE]SCHOLARS GET +1 MAB AT 2ND AND+1MAB at 3rd so should be a 2.I was right.oh so they donot stack.

okay

ok how are you calculateing your initiative. Your not adding any attack bonus should you be doing this?

Your favored class is scholar......so you get a favored class feat at level 1, as well as the normal progression of 1..3..6 and so on.'

At 2nd level you get a new sorcery style or a sorcery feat. I would choose oriental magic for the basic spell "calm of the adept". Otherwise it is wasted. "Calm of the Adapt" gives a a +2 for a day bonus to Dex, Wis and Cha just for meditating for an hour in the morning.

Initiative is just reflex + dex mod.

ok your not me so not going to worry about chooseing another sorcery style.Only reason even a scholar is so can have an animal companion to aid me in battle.
now how did you get 40 skill points at level 1. should be 4+int modifier x 4 =4+0x4=16 for boarderer could be 20 with a +4 bonus for being human which is how d&d does it. 2+0 x4=8+4=12 for scholar at 1st 32 ok 4 more for an additional level in Boarder + 4 more for 2 scholar levels=8 more total should be 40 by d&d rules but say mongoose doesnot add 4 for being human. so would -8 40-8=32

and I think your off on my will by 1 point recheck that please.I calculate it to be a 6 rather than a 5.

and feat wise I think I have the right amount. seems your telling me I need at least 1 more?

Just thought it would go with the character concept , sorry. Take one of the feats then. Or don't whatever.

Scholar
1st level 8+Int Mod (2) x 4 8+2=10 10x4=40 40 skill points, 12 of which must be used on knowledge based skills.

2nd level 8+Int Mod (2) = 10 skill points, 3 of which must be spent on knowledge based skills.

3rd level 8+ Int Mode (2) = 10 skill points, 3 of which must be spent on knowledge based skills.

4th level borderer 4+Int Mod (2) = 6 skill points

5th level borderer 4+ Int Mod (2) = 6 skill points

Tofu

Pelishtim Scholar 3/ Borderer 2

Hit Dice 3d6 + 2d10

Speed 30ft unarmored
DV Dodge 14 (+2 Dex +2 Dodge)
DV Parry 15 (+3 Str +2 Parry)
DR 0
Attack +7 melee (+4 BAB +3 Str) +6 ranged (+4 BAB +2 Dex) +8 Katar (+4 BAB +3 Str +1 WF) +7 Hunting Bow (+2 DEX +4 BAB +1 Shemite Feature)
Damage Katar 1d6 x2 Hunting Bow 1d8 x2
Special Qualities Knowledge is Power, Shemite (Pelishtam) Regional Qualities, Favored Terrain (Plains)
Base Power Points 5
Magic Attack Bonus 1
Saves Fort +5 (+4 level +2 Con -1 Shemite Feature) Reflex +5 (+4 level +2 Dex -1 Shemite Feature) Will +5 (+3 Level -1 Shemite Feature +3 Barbaric Code)
Abilities Str 16 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 14 Wis 11 Cha 10
Feats Track, Combat Style (Rapid Shot), Knowledgable, Weapon Focus (Katar)
Spell Nature (Summon Beast, Animal Ally)

All of this is right I think. Minus 1 Feat for favored class. Minus 1 Sorcery Style or Sorcery Feat. Minus Skill Points. Minus your Favored Terrain (I put plains beacuse it corresponded with the other Shemite Pelishtam regional features but do whatever you feel).

Thanks for helping me and getting things fixed. You pointed out things I didnot see or was looking at wrong class. As far as the feat and calm of the adept was a good choice. But I chose to gain a bonus power point over the new sorcerous style. My feats should be good. Changes in Skills, and saves and fight modes were needed though thanks for pointing them out.

Dodge was a chosen feat,Background favored feat,Bonus Power Point replaces sorcerous feat,Skills changed,Think I am good.

Melee attack should be +7, ranged +6

Where does it say you can change a sorcery style or sorcery feat for a bonus power point?

You get no bonus feat at 2nd level.

You can take dodge at 1st level for your favored class feat.

ofudlanorr@sbcglobal.net requested that 1 roll of a 6-sided die be rolled. The lowest die for each roll won't be counted.

Roll them bones ... your dice are

Roll 1: 5.

reroll on Scholar so 3d6= 25 +2d10 =8+5=13 total hit points 33 not 35

3d6=25? , 3d6 Can not = 25, 6+6+6=18

no,no his hitpoints at 2nd level was 20 2d6 roll of 12+attribute bonuses.2 wait that would have been 14.Yeah I rolled 2d10=20 apparently in creation I had thought scholar was a 1d10 roll. but that was soilder friggin pdf good point out.so 14 should have been my start add 15 hit popint gain what I rolled=29

glad your here to help.

You also treat Shemite Bows as martial weapons.

Pretty solid character all around. Good BAB, great skills, animal ally. Only weakness is defense. High strength gives you a decent parry though. With a shemite bow you could be a pretty deadly archer as well. If you took Oriental Magic and Calm of the Adept you could become even deadlier. (+4 BAB +2 Dex +1 Shemite Feature +2 Dex Bonus from calm of the adept) +9 with Shemite Bow 1d10 x3 100ft. Add rapid shot to that. Then finish them off with that katar.

Any thought to what your animal ally will be?

Something that Flys preferably. Ok, apparently this is my problem reading in PDF format and getting class professions confused. So was good to bring this to the open.Might need to relook at my Nomad and alter it.
I was reading lower part of Scholar and it runs into Soilder but if your not careful you will see stuff that belongs to the Soilder class and think it is part of the Scholar.

tofudlanorr@sbcglobal.net requested that 2 rolls of a 6-sided die be rolled. The lowest die for each roll won't be counted.

Roll them bones ... your dice are

Roll 1: 3.
Roll 2: 5.

so I rerolled my hitpoints. 3d6= 3+5+5 +2d10=8+5=26+2 Con 28
