Edit: look it up at Target official site under starship troopers Evolution.

Verrrrryyy Innnterestinnng....

96 page hardcover. A good deal. They have BF:Evo too.

Also listed on Amazon:

[edit- removed link for a shorter page width, just search with ISBN 1905850379]

This doesn't surprise me though. I recall that UWZ (Ultimate Warzone) was listed the same way well before it was actually available from Excelsior Entertainment who was publishing it. The critical question is whether it actually is available or just listed early. I might just test the waters on Amazon..

96 pages? When did hardback RPG/Wargaming books become so tiny? Made even worse by you mentioning Ultimate Warzone Goldwyrm, what was that 500+ pages :D now thats a rule book lol.

Guess that explains why there was no room for army lists in this edition...
Seems a shame though, I would have paid way more than that for a rule book with all I need to play... Still that said, Im sure I'll end up paying way more than that anyway just for being English :D

I didn't intend to jinx Mongoose by the comparison.

To be honest I'd rather have a 96 page rulebook that I can read and digest in 1-2 sittings. By comparison the MI and ARachnid army books are each 64 pages. A big reason I didn't buy UWZ after playing 1st and 2nd Edition WZ was that the 500+ page book was just too @#!& much to read. :D

I hear what your saying about that book, I think I only ever read the Imperial section and the rules lol. Still it is nice to have everything you could ever possibly need in one book :D

96 pages just seems that bit to short to me, hell even 4 extra pages so it can claim triple digit status would seem better somehow lol.

Books do seem to be getting smaller these days though, its like the last game of thrones book, that had to be split into two books because the American publisher wouldnt accept a book of that size.
Which seems complete ass to me  but I suppose its good business sense or something...

SST Core Rules is aprox. 70 Pages excluding Army Lists and Fluff.
Though I still think it's crap to exclude army lists - it's a RULEBOOK.
I hope quality will be better than the BF Evo Book (especially the binding, I don't wanna see a limed one).

I hope its actually been proof read this time round and its not missing letters on every single page :D
... Incidently, aren't the rebel software (or whoever it is) printing presses aquired durring the Fleetway buyout actually the old Titan comics presses?

I recall there were supplements for Ultimate Warzone (like the new Dark Eden supplement) listed on Amazon for over a year after Excelsior had closed their doors. You could also find it at Wal-Mart as I recall.

I bought the Ultimate Warzone book when it came out. Price seemed a bit steep but given that it had a complete army list for every faction in the game (I figured that's like buying a Warhammer 40,000 rulebook and a dozen codexes) that was a pretty good deal. Turned out to be the most poorly edited book I've ever paid money for. However after reading the rules I found it to be one of the best mini games I've ever played. We had lots of fun playing it. I still love the game.

I friggin love the Dark Eden suppliment for secound edition!
One of my favourite suppliments for any game ever infact, it so well thought out, and turns what would have been the lamest four armies ever into something you'd actually wanna play.
Im eagerly anticipating the rerelease of the mutant Chronicles franchise, the prepainted game I can live without, though I might pick some singles up if its hella cheap , but the new RPG woot! (I feel kinda bad saying this, but Im actually happy Mongoose didnt get the rights to any of it after all this SST debacle), the new edition of the RPG seems to be set a good 50 years after the last edition, and from what I can piece together Cybertronic is no more!

Um.... entirly unrelated to what anyone was talking about, but I love warzone/Mutant chronicles :D

As for the SST thing, none of that means anything if Mongoose dont physically have any of the stock on hand at the date of release...

I thought these were destined to be too large to mix with anything existing, be it Warzone, SST, or other Sci-fi in the range of 28mm. They were either going to be 36mm or 54mm. I'm checking it out at GenCon so I'll try and remember to report back my findings.

Yep, 54mm figures, which is crazy!
But, Im running the RPG right now, and I could definatly do with some big scary monster figures to slap down on the table for the players to kill in two rounds.... :D
Should be good for the Nephrites if nothing else, I always thought they were way to small anyway lol.
