Official A Call to Arms: Star Fleet Update

Well if people do not understand it and need to ask then perhaps it wasn't as clearly worded as it could have been or needed a good example to go with it. It is perhaps easy to forget that a lot of people are being drawn to ACTA-SF from outside of the SFB/FC dimension, they don't have the nerd/geek level of understanding that the old timers do and if its not clear they don't understand it

Besides which the Errata has already been Errata'd once

Aw, you haven't seen anything yet. Anyone who lived through the TFG era of SFB knows the SFU has a long tradition of errata for the errata on the errata of their errata. Nexus magazine and the pre-Doomsday edition Captain's Log used to devote a large percentage of their page count to it every single issue. ACTA's handicapped by only having 65 pages or so of crunch, but I have faith in them topping TFG in the long run. Nearly 70% of the ships stats needing fixes in the first few weeks is a good start.

I don't think I've ever been ired upon. What's it feel like? Does it tingle?

Where'd you get 70% of the ship stats from ? About a third of the ships have had changes made and, other than the civilians and a handful of others, it's only adding or removing a trait or two or correcting a typo in a weapons stat.

That's what ADB thought the players wanted. They were seriously wrong, but they have learned their lessons. In anything as complex as the SFB rules, there shall be errors. Most of them are pretty minor, spelling inconsistencies and the like. But you'll never see wholesale changes for the sake of changes again.

ADB's actually been quite good since Doomsday. You're right that they learned their lesson from the Bad Old Days. FedComs seems to have slightly more errors than SFB, but that be my imagination - or a side effect of accidentally lapsing into "SFB-think" while writing parts of FC. Even then, it's pretty solid by general industry standards.

Well, I imagine it tingles. :)

There were 34 ships with changes (minor or otherwise) made to them in the errata doc last I looked. Rulebooks has how many ships all told? My math may be off a bit, but I bet the change percentage is still over sixty percent. And you're right, many of the mistakes are minor - the sort of thing a good editing job would have and should have caught before going to press.

70 ships, not counting variants. 34 have changes (forgot about the freighters). 49%. Although I was more disputing the "70% of the ships stats needing fixes" comment which is a hell of a lot different from 70% of the ships needing changes to their stats.

In the errata it says an Orion Raider gets a third fore arc weapon * with 1 AD. However the Orion Raider only has one fore arc * weapon so this would be a second one. Was this intended to be an update for the Orion Destroyer, which does already have 2 such weapons?

I thnk you're looking at the Light Raider, but the change is for the Matrix-class destoryer (CR cruiser raider). I don't undertand why the two weapons that are listed aren't SH/PH like the LR.
