Not really Lone Wolf...but related

GreyLord

Mongoose
Not even Mongoose related...but VERY related to the origins of Lone Wolf long ago. I'm certain some of the older ones on these boards would recall this guy.

Gary Chalk.

He recently had an interview about the 25th anniversary of Warhammer.

I won't bore you with the article itself, you can go to the link if you desire. I will put in the Chalk quotes however.

Gary Chalk, a 59-year-old fantasy game creator and illustrator, knows all about its Britishness. He used to design Warhammer and Warhammer 40K games in the 1980s and 90s. His trademark wit is evident in Bloodbath at Orc's Drift (an elvish version of the Michael Caine film Zulu) and a naval ship battle he called "All the Dwarves Love a Sailor". Still an enthusiastic table-top gamer, he does, however, believe Games Workshop uses its monopoly on the products to target and exploit increasingly younger fans. The prices for essential models, paints and books are "eyewatering", he says.

"They are not selling a hobby. They are selling a craze."

and

And Chalk claims the game is now less interesting. "The original rules were about fantasy combat and creating character. Now the rules only work within their imaginary world, with their figures and it cuts out all the other influences."

So, not tons, and on another subject than Lone Wolf...but still some media attention to one of our favorite artists of yore.

I read that at lunchtime and was going to post it, but you beat me to it! Now I don't play Warhammer or Warhammer 40k, but that was a pretty interesting article.

Fans of Gary might like to hear that he has recently done artwork for the forthcoming Orbis RPG thats on Kickstarter (and has already met its first goal). Some roughs of more artwork are on the Orbis RPG site on Facebook. I dare say thye sketchs will prove good resources for your Magamund campaigns.

Theres a link to Orbis RPG Kickstarter on the Intresting Kickstarter thread in the Legend section of the forum site.
There are also more bits of artwork on the Orbis RPG Facebook site.

Well only a few days left, so please pledge ASAP if you wat even more of Gary's artwork to be commissioned for the book.

Another stretch goal attained today so you now have a big book of rules and source material with more original art work, intro scenario, pre-gens, city map and gazetterr ! Only a short time left, but if we hit next goal that would be total 100% original artwork plus more creaures and demons.
Definately a must for fans of Gary's artwork !

Good day,

I registered to share some other Gary-Chalk-related news, but I don't know if it would be deemed off-topic or an unwanted advertisement. This time it's connected to Lone Wolf, just not the RPG: we're working with Gary on a Kickstarter project for his wargame/board game based on Lone Wolf. (Pieces, of course, could be used as RPG aides.)

The project is live here:

May I create a dedicated thread for our project? If so, where?
