Nolo'tar and Troligan

hmmmmm....the new troligan is not so my favorite... really...it looks like a toy... it misses the typical meancing and graceful minbari look. a big fish with two big eyes...

the nolo´tar is nice...but it looks like a brand new raiders ship.
not like a ranger design.

the Nolo'Tar is true to "Legend of the Rangers" though (only too big...)

whats an ORBAT?

You work in RAF, and you dont know an ORBAT. Thats like working in the Vatican, and not knowing what a bible is

nothing like. perhaps if i worked in the army. our ORBAT if we had one is sit back at base and send the officers off to fly missions. we dont fight quite so much in the air force and certainly dont conduct battles, tahts what planes are for, far more civilised :)

So this does not ring any bells?

EDIT- or even this, on the Official RAF website

http://www.raf.mod.uk/glossary.cfm

ORBATs are used (tri-service btw at least in the UK) for force and *strategic planning*, considering both red and blue forces. I seriously doubt their relevance to ACTA given the PL system and the Fleet Allocation Point system give absolutely no indication of fleet composition based on numbers of units within the fleet! ACTA is pix n mix as far as what ships you can use are (ISD excepted).

What that means is a fleet list is not an ORBAT, it is a shopping list ;)

I think you chaps familar with military terms are far too eager to give credence to ACTA as a working simulation / model of the "real" thing. It's not even close guys...and it's not meant to be it's a game!

B5 isn't real!?

nope, not seen that before nor heard that where our bases are described as an ORBAT.
think thats more for the REMFs and the sad spotters :)
normals guys on the ground just get on with their jobs and dont need an ORBAT.
9 years in and never seen that term before :)

I suppose the good thing is, IF the Nolotar was designed on the new system, surely it can be re-scaled in seconds? assuming That it IS a patrol or skirmish ship, and needs re-scaling.

Depending on the level and scale of details on the ship, not necessarily. If the ship was modeled to be that size in the CAD program, there can be some detailing that, if simply scaled down, would be too small to form correctly on the final model. That 3mm long detail shrunk down to a little over 1mm is going to have problems, if not during rapid prototyping possibly during mold making or casting.

You usually have some wiggle room, but massive size changes aren't possible for heavily detailed prototypes. I don't see that kind of detailing on the Liandra on a first glance, though.

But look on the bright side... maybe Mongoose is scaling it against the Olympus :D

its the nolo'tar not liandra ;) altho i kow the liandra is a variant of the nolo'tar.
as for the olympus, thats being redone to a better size.
