No Equipment page beginning of Shadow On the Sand??

KaiSunSword

Mongoose
Usually in the beginning when setting up the adventure, you usually chooes four of the provided list of euipment items, for example two meals, luamspur etc.
But this doesnt appear in BOOK 5 - compare it to book 4! So that meant i start Book5 with no tasty meals in my back pack :(
another Mongoose goose-up?!

And there is an error in the story synopsis on the back cover.

It goes as" A voyage to the land of Vassagonia should lead to the end of the shadow war..."

Shadow War? When did a new war start up by that name?

In the original Uk edition, it stated, "A voyage to Vassagonia promises an end to the shadow of war..."

I think 'shadow war' would be the same as a 'cold war', except in this case Vassgonia probably does allow attacks, either sanctioned, or by omission of retaliation by rogue nobles like barraka and say 'bandits' on places like Dessi and Sommerlund.

The idea would be there is a state of hostility, and after all raunon was invaded, but the powers in vassgonia have deniability, even though if Eshnar had fallen, the Zakhan would surely have been right there to support undead Vashna!

Edit: Just to point out to KSS, there is an errata thread with all the errors at the top of the page so you can check this stuff out and see what else might trip you up!

Hey KaiSunSword, here's the equipment from the original:

"You may take any four of the following:

DAGGER (Weapons)

POTION OF LAUMSPUR (Backpack Items). This potion restores 4 ENDURANCE points to your total when swallowed after combat. There is enough for one dose.

SWORD (Weapons)

SPEAR (Weapons)

2 SPECIAL RATIONS (Meals). Each of these Special Rations counts as one Meal, and each takes up one space in your backpack.

MACE (Weapons)

SHIELD (Special Items). This adds 2 points to your COMBAT SKILL when used in combat."

So basically you can take one weapon and all the other items. 8)

Hope that helps.

Shadow War is a cool term 8). I'm sure like you say it is supposed to be shadow of war.

Otherwise you could use it to describe the Darklord's civil war when they seek a new leader - in this case Haakon succeeding Zagarna. It sounds 'Naarish'.

Although it immediately makes it sound as if there'll be characters called Yoda, Darth something and the word Clones somewhere near the title  . And that's not Lone Wolf.

Somebody could have been watching the Star Wars trailer for the Clone Wars when editing the cover? :D
