No Conan love in Matt's blog?

Banded Mongoose
In Matt's blog on the 4e OGL, RuneQuest and Traveller are prominently mentioned. Conan, B5, and some other games were not. Why no mention of Conan? I thought it was referred to as an "evergreen" game in the State of the Mongoose address.

RuneQuest and Traveller are both non-D20 systems, with engines proprietary to Mongoose, so I guess Matt wanted to express that MGP does not depend on weal and woe of 4E.

Since Conan has just been released as a 2nd edition then to redo it all again a few months later for 4.0 would really annoy a lot of customers (even if we want to go with the changes in 4.0 for Conan, and there is no guarentee we would). I know I would be somewhat unimpressed if I had just purchased abrand new edition and then shortly afterwards it became redundant.

Conan will get lots of love over the next year, I know this as there are multiple books in my editing schedule as well as the schedules of my fellow editors.

So in the words of Corporal Jones 'DON'T PANIC!'

Could you be more precise, please? 8)

Thanks, no worries. After I posted, I thought I probably shouldn't have bothered.

(Just to be clear, I have ZERO interest in seeing a Conan based on 4e. Just in case someone's keeping score.)

Long live Conan 2e!

Well the Bestiary, Skelos, Trial of Blood and Cimmeria are all mentioned on the site as being released in the next few months...surely that is enough to keep you happy for now.

Beyond that the schedule is a little more flexible. I know I have three more books on my editing list, but these might end up swapped for other products with another editor, be reassigned, switch with a planned 2009 Conan product or somesuch. I really do not want to tell you X is going to be released 10 months from now, which is a REALLY long time away. You might be upset if I tell you there is going to be a Khitai sourcebook and instead we release one for Nemedia (as two totally random, do not read anything into what I just said, examples).

We are going to do plenty of Conan, but unless we have writers actually slaving away over their parchments (or something similar) I am a cautious conservative when it comes to saying what will be next.

(Matt, on the other hand, is a wild and almost uncontrolled whirlwind of information if you manage to attract his attention - but there again he IS the boss and therefore can kick Crom's backside with both feet tied behind his back...or somesuch  ).

I won't be upset at all if one Conan book is published instead of another.
On amazon, though, there is an "Adventures in the Hyborian Age" that has been scheduled for sometimes.
