News on Legend

We have just posted our initial plans for the Legend RPG on Planet Mongoose - you can get the full scoop at;

http://blog.mongoosepublishing.co.uk/

But where is Age of Treason in all of this? Having started to read the book last night, I want more already; it's outstanding.

Pirates of Legend is mentioned but not included in the Schedule. The old MRQ1 Pirates was probably Mongoose's best Alternate Earthy supplement, in my opinion.

Good to see that Legend is going completely OGL - that will encourage other people to publish supplements.

We will be declaring the entire ‘core line,’ (that is, any book with a title including ‘of Legend’) as Open Content SRDs.
*long whistle*
That means you can mix Samurai, Vikings, Pirates and whatever else Of Legend in one adventure.
And answer that long-unanswered question, "Who's harder? Pirates or Ninjas?"
I say again, *long whistle*

Awesome news! Hopefully the new edition will attract some new players and generate a bit of interest from the broader gaming community. The news that the system is being released under the OGL is very welcome indeed - if we are lucky we will see some third-party products supporting the game.

I notice that you haven't announced an update for the excellent RQII Empires book yet - is this something that we might see later?

Very likely, but we don't want to flood the releases with reprints alone.

Remember, your current Empires book will work with Legend without conversion!

Excellent news all round - Mongoose coming out fighting on Legend.

I've been prepping the next release(s) - and waiting to see reception on the initial book (which so far is great, I appreciate all the comments so far). That will inform when and what, and in what format. I'll talk to Matt soonish, but interesting to find out from buyers whether compiling the material into a mixed compendium of articles, adventures and characters, or a drip feed of smaller more focussed releases, perhaps on PDF, would be most desireable.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Age of Treason - I'm waiting for the PDF release though. Everything I've heard so far intrigues me.

I don't know where you live Prime Evil, but if you're in the UK, I bought my copy from Leisure Games which offers the book + the pdf (part of the Bits and Mortar organization). The pdf is already available to them and so I downloaded it yesterday. Bad timing actually since I have a shed-load of real world work to be done, but this book keeps whispering in my ear, Siren like.

Unfortunately I live down under in Australia and I haven't seen it in my FLGS yet. We often see PDF releases before the physical books arrive. Plus I'm trying to move across to PDF as much as possible since all of my shelving is taken up....

I am SO looking forward to Pirates of Legend. Also Samurai of legend, sounds pretty damned awesome!

However, arms of legend, I know what it is, but it sounds weird, I suggest Legendary Equipment or some such instead, as to not having all of the things just be of legend.

Oh, and I love how you used the correct multiple of Samurai on Samurai of legend! Awesome!

Very nice, it's like being a kid and somebody handing you the keys to the candy store. Several of those new releases look awesome. Spider God's Bride being one of them.

Hoping for more Age of Treason scenario/setting stuff. Just browsed my shiny new copy and it looks very well written (As well as useful). A coherent setting with ideas that can be easily transferred/pinched.

The Elric stuff looks interesting.
So does the Historia Rodentia setting.

Thanks,
We're very excited to bring Brushfire/Historia Rodentia over to the fantastic Legend system. A lot of our fans have been asking for a proper role playing game for the setting since we released the miniatures game.

With Legend being released under the OGL and Pirates getting updated I really hope that Mongoose and / or Green Ronin arrange for a Legend Freeport Companion (Legend of Freeport?)

I had hoped MRQ1 was going to get such a book, but now pin my hopes on Legend.
