New Skills

Mongoose
Hi Guys,
in Merc Pg 41 there is a section about adding Merc skills to core career paths... subsequent books lack this feature.

It would be good if Mongoose could publish a cross table for all the new skills against all the careers e.g. should an Agent career get Security as an optional skill etc...

just a thought

I'm actually hoping for a Traveller Campaign Addendum, that compiles all the new skills etc, into one book. Though I would also settle for a Signs and Portents that does the same thing.

Right. Just need to compile all these new Skills and such, into one book. Heh. A Traveller: Players Guide!

A "Traveller Compendium I: Character Creation" would be a desirable tome once all the basic Books are published (i.e., "Merchant Prince", "Citizen", "Noble", etc.).

"Traveller Compendium II": Worlds and Adventuring" would be the next choice, obviously.

They've got spacecraft options spread across a lot of books now.

That would be "Traveller Compendium III: Starships".

Of course as soon as one comes out other books will arrive on the scene with new material for it. Ah, I'de put that one first, be handy when dealing with spaceships. The character creation stuff you generally need mostly at the beginning then don't have to worry too much about it.

I believe that Mongoose themselves actually attempted to create a core d20 OGL reference guide, which IIRC was supposed to bring all the d20 rules that were ever released as open content into one place so people could refer to it easily (since it was open content, it could be reprinted). I'm pretty sure they had it as a sticky thread on one of the other forums here, but I can't find it now.

Maybe that could be an idea for Traveller? Especially right now, given that there's not a LOT that's been released under the OGL for it yet (which makes the task manageable).

Forgery, and the forgery kit, do show up - in Book 6: Scoundrel.
Just got my copy and I do not see how one acquires the Forgery Skill. I do not see it on any of the tables.

Good spot! I just flicked through and couldn't find it either, as a house rule fix, I would add it to the service skills of Intruder Smuggler and Organised Crime as an alternative to Deception I would also add to the career specialisations where they also contain Deception, so the skills chart reads Deception or Forgery

This skill can only be aquired with the proper 'documents'...

Perhaps one needs Intrusion skill first (:) - mystery skill from CSC referred to in prior posts)...

more likely, you would need Deception Skill
