Hey guys,

I'm new here and I signed up because I have no clue where to start my MI force and I thought the veteran cap troopers over here could give me some directions.
I have bought the rulebook (which looks fantastic by the way...great layout and long live Andy Chambers!) and a boxed set of Grizzlies. But now I don't have a clue where to go. I have seen that there are several army books for the MI, but I don't know if all my favorite models can be chosen in each list. To me the following units are a must because of the looks (most important to me):
-Grizzlies
-Pathfinders
-Marauders
-1-2 units of Cap Troopers
-Heroes
-Maybe some Cougars

Is this possible to do in one army list? And if so, which army book should I buy. I assume the MI Army Book would suffice, but I’m not sure. And do you guys have any good tactical tips for such an army. Many thanks!

you are also gonna need the pathfinders book then.

otherwise, yup that should do, that force is kinda on the large side from what i can make out but not overly so.

Out of interest did you get a good deal on your SST? Most places seem to have it reduced due to SST Evo being around the corner.

> All to be found in the mobile infantry army book

Pathfinders have there own army and 'codex'.

>Even though pathfinders are in a different book, in a mobile infantry army you can have one type of platoon for every thousand points. The platoons are as follows: pathfinders, light armour troopers (guys in movie), cap troopers, marauders, and exosuits. You do not have to spend an equal or set mix on either platoon either. This means you could have a mostly exosuit army with a five man squad of pathfinders if it tickles your fancy.

Tipswise, I will be honest, I do not play much, with college and work. I would recommend, as I have done, a cap trooper force, which is allowed to have marauder suits as squad upgrades in the way as a special weapon, or be put on your leader, and you can also put exosuits on your leaders, by leaders I mean NCOs and lieutenants. I am not a fan of traits or skills either, and recommend as many guns as you can find!

Yes, you can do it all in one army list....

You can go with Cap troopers as a base then...

Officers can be mounted in either a Marauder or an Exosuit

1 squad of Cap Troopers can have one or two troopers in either a marauder or an exosuit

1 squad of the same.

Heroes are extra.

To field units of either marauders or exosuits, you need to play 2000 or 3000 points, and again flesh it out with the same command structure.

I would recomend getting some Cougars to go with the Grizzlys, they are even better looking than the Grizzlys... and they are really poseable :)

Ok, thanks for the advise guys! I think my Grizzlies will be added to the cap units or will be the heroes. Same goes for the Marauder.

@Cordas: Sorry...in comparison to the Grizzlies, the Cougars aren't that cool IMO. They just don't have the same Heinlein feeling the Grizzlies have. Huge, powerful and heavy. Love 'em!
