Due to popular demand from Paranoia fans, we will be releasing limited edition versions of both the Internal Security and High Programmers rulebooks this year.

The limited Internal Security book is entitled Paranoia: Blue Line, while High Programmers is called Paranoia: White Washes. Both sport new covers to stand alongside that of Black Missions and both are extremely limited, to just one hundred copies. These will not be appearing in the shops, and are only available from Mongoose's web site - and we expect them to go quickly, so act fast!

You can find Paranoia: Blue Line and And Paranoia: White Washes at;

Seriously, only 100 of each, seems a shame they're so limited, I wonder if I can justify the expense and preorder induced budget nightmare.

So aprt from the shiny covers and a fiver, what will be different, if anything, between these Limited Editions and the normal ones?

EDIT: Of course the biggest thing putting me off ordering after the expense is what the Royal Mail might do to the books in transit, depsite Mongoose going above and beyond in the packaging it is n othing to the determination of the Royal Mail to ding the corners of my books.

Looks like the only difference is the cover.

Black Missions
was pitched at both collectors and longtime fans (what with its CD stuffed with goodies). Conversely, White Washes and Blue Line are pitched pretty much entirely at collectors... who are happy to pay the premium for their extra-nice co-ordinated edition (so the £5 markup = a service charge, of sorts). This audience is likely to be a smaller one than for Black Missions, hence the 100-print run. All IMHO of course.

Matthew has kindly allowed me to place my preorder to pick both books up in person in december, thus avoiding the tender mercies of the Royal Mail.

I just need to phone in with my credit card details to pay them for them.

Thanks Matthew, and thanks for Mongoose's great customer service, always going that extra mile.

Mystic Meg is saying... December. ;)

That's hell of good customer service, anyway. ISTR Matt has met you before, but still most impressive.

Oh Matt has indeed had the 'pleasure' of my acquaintance, I only posited December for pickup thinking I would get them both in one trip, but now I'm thinking one trip per book.

Still worth it to keep the Royal Mail off them.

We should be good for that. I believe we get approvals for Int Sec tomorrow, and then it is off to print!

I recently picked up Black Missions(it was sitting all alone in a corner of my local hobby store). I have to admit that getting the fancy cover version of the other two books is tempting. I'll just have to hope that they're still available come November though. My entire October fund is already commited. *Glares at my van's radiator for exploding on me right after I ordered some stuff from Dwarven Forge*

Ouch, that sucks dude.

And I'll say it is worse than the time I sat for 8 hrs in a freezing hanger on an AF base waiting for a flight crew to get their act together and load the damm plane (they couldn't identify a pallet that was one of the first to go on according to the load plan). Just as they were finally loading our baggage they told our troop commander (a very level headed and practical Lt. Col) that we'd be airborn in an hour, yeah by the way we now have a refueling mission on top of everything else... The Lt Col just looked the loadmaster in the eye and said "Son, you're gonna get on the horn right now to base ops and tell them I want one of them 'blue C5's' out here NOW"

He ordered out one of our standard blue school buses to pick us and our gear up and bring us back around to the main side of the base. Yes we were ending an exercise on the back side of our home base and were made to suffer for nothing.

As someone who has ordered all three limited editions, I strongly advocate making some additional reward available to buyers of Blue Line and White Washes. I even know just the thing; an electronic download of Flashbacks and Flashbacks 2 with Blue Line, and Stuff and Stuff 2 with White Washes. ;>
