i'm just annoyed we already talking version 2 so quickly after amrageddon release. kind of makes buying anything pointless as you dont know if your ships will be the same, which ones will be useful etc in probably less than 12 months.

Do you not buy in a computer because there's talk of a faster better one coming out in a year?

Games, like technology, evolve. It's like a river - you have to jump in at some point or watch it flow forever and never swim.

actually my computer is 5 years old, altho will be getting a new one soon. it still runs fine and its only just being overtaken by games. i buy to last so i buy decently and expect things to last at least a while. do you buy a new computer every 10-12 months? i doubt it. games should at least last a few years, not have complete revamps less than 12 months after the latest add-on. as i said it means any ships you have bought could be rendered useless etc. its more the evil empires way but i hope mongoose doesnt follow down this path too (got too many GW figures that are unuseable now).

I hear ya on the buying to last, but things change so quickly. Mongoose does have to make money and I understand their NEED for an evolving game even though we players don't really have a need. All we want is good figures and a solid set of rules (and a place to gripe )
