New Gorn!

We now have all but two of the new Gorn up on our site, and very nice they look too - enough to tempt anyone into throwing plasma torpedoes about!

The last Gorn ships (the Medium Cruiser and Fast Cruiser) will be up within the next few days. The whole fleet will be shipping towards the end of October.

You can see them all at;

Lovely paint jobs as always, especially the "heavy" ships (not that sure about the green scales, although I love the shading/glow effect on them).

:shock: The new Albertosaurs and Stegosaurs classes look very nice! I was thinking of getting some Gorn just based on stats but the new minis are very very nice, good call on holding them back and improving them before release.

Just to let you all know, the Fast Battlecruiser and Medium Cruiser are now up in their brand new forms!

I love the added surface detail on the new minis, compared to the smaller ADB ships. Not totally sold on the bright green scales, but the paint jobs are all top notch. Can't wait to get my scaley claws on the fleet box I pre-ordered. :mrgreen:

I was also wondering, the Romulan KR ships have been given their own paint jobs, will the photographs on the site, and box art for squad/fleet boxes be updated as well? The KC9R also seems to be hiding away in a corner not showing its new paint job, too.

I do love these new gorn, I will have to get some to expand what I can let other ppl play to try and lure them into the hobby.

Who did the work, and what color(s) did he use for the blueish engine glow areas? Awesome effect.

Hi there, thanks for the "Awesome", much appreciated.

The Gorn warp engines use colours from the "Wargame Foundry" range in the UK, their Deep Blue 20, SkyBlue 21 & Vivid Blue 22.

I also applied the paint well thinned down to "wet blend" the shades.

I like them, apart from the scales, I honestly preferred the non scale design, perhaps if I see them in different colors or in the flesh (they are really nicely painted though) I may change my mind, but for now they just make me think the Kzinti ships are going to have fur on them.

In the abstract, I agree. Just because a ship builder is reptilian does not mean they will make the hull of their ships look reptilian. But the whole point of the exercise is to make ships that have a little "wow" factor on the game table. Bleh grey like the older Starline miniatures series is boooooring. :D

I could see the Gorns in metallic grey or something because the Gorn legislature is legendary on not wanting to spend money, so why paint the ships at all? Saves a few mega credits.

That could be a good way to differntiate between ships from different shipyards, they are all unpainted so there color changes due to different materials used in their construction.
