New Campaign

Not gonna argue, but its not the combat and sci-fi that makes the book ausome (though it is ausome!) its the training part, officer training school, and the parts where he flashes back to history and moral philosophy class. The book had a point, whereas the movie was nothing but a hollywood shoot em' up. If thats your thing, thats cool. (I just prefer actually thinking :D)

You see, the book Arachnids are a hivemind society (think Haldeman's Human, or the Klackons from MOO II), not just an oversized anthill. That means they use modern technology, including beam weapons and spaceships, inferior to human ones as they are. Movie went for a much different, more Aliens-ish concept - cooler visually per certes, but inferior in all other areas.
All that being said LAMIs are neat :D

yeah, i dont really like that. I prefer the arachnids as we know them today. Also, the arachnids dont have (if they look the same in the book as in the movie) the body structure to build things like that. Imagine a person wering mittens trying to assemble a spaceship. Remove the thumbs on the mittens.
